Wish i could... but, as i pick the days i work, i should probably show up, yanno? lol And, as i work 7pm to 7:30 am and drive an hour each way, doesn't leave much time to do anything in between - but i'll be with the partiers in spirit!

Where the hell is the trap so I can walk into it.

Well, it's quite a trap.  One side's on the eastern seaboard, and the other side's in southwestern ohio.

Close enough to see if my butt hurts? Heck, I'm pretty sure that would be quite obvious from across the room!

I can't see that far without glasses. You would have to get much closer. I cant even see my hand in front of my face.

Was out collecting walnuts and hickory nuts yesterday. The trees are overloaded with them this year. Got some big Osage oranges for decorations.

I had no idea we had Osage oranges in Michigan....I've never seen one here.

Big green ugly useless things. Don't know why they call the that. The wood from the tree was used to build fence post.  They sell for about 50 cents a piece in stores. Drive down any dirt road and you can collect them for free.

Wow....I really have never seen them here and I spend a lot of time in the woods. I've always called them hedge apples. They really aren't useless though. They do make good decorations....the wood is unbelievable strong (wonder what kind of canes it would make?) and I believe that I read somewhere that the oils in them repel mosquitoes. (Although I would be a little cautious about rubbing them all over yourself until you know what your reaction to them would be)

Not the oil you would have to worry about. It is the staining.. Thats the big problem with walnuts.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh you're talking about black walnuts! I thought you were talking about Osage oranges. We've got tons of black walnuts here too. It sounds like a symphony outside my window....I swear every branch on the tree outside has got a squirrel on it chewing on a black walnut. Yes, the stain from those is awful.

edited because I think maybe you are confusing the two. Osage oranges are different than black walnuts. Black walnuts are edible and pretty expensive. The wood is VERY expensive and they don't use it for fence posts. Osage oranges are not edible, do not grow in Michigan as far as I know and they did use the wood for fencing.

i have a large flat-topped rock in my side yard for decoration - and it's covered all fall with the peels from the black walnuts. The squirrels gather them up then peel em and crack em open on the rock - actually kinda cute to watch.

I remember when I brought a white mouse home. My dad got mad and made me get rid of it.

Fooey!!  Feel better soon, pj, remember the blackberry brandy cure---a quarter cup of blackberry brandy, every hour on the hour, until you can't see the numbers on the measuring cup anymore.  Works wonders!
