I can't believe that list above didn't mention Crash or Strangeland or even Seven for that matter. Those are mostly just scenes of minor restraint...but to each their own.

Sidenote: how is crossdressing BDSM?

SirJscanX -> RE: BDSM in the vanilla MOVIES * news flash * (8/3/2004 3:49:17 PM)

Just a couple more notes:

That "other lady" in "Live and Let Die" is none other than a nineteen-year-old Jane Seymour (playing the role of Solitaire).

The Bond film series is not short of bondage scenes either (neither were the novels, come to think of it.) Mentioned were "Live and Let Die" and "Never Say Never Again." A few more examples: the interogation scene in "Thunderball" where the lady Domino (Luciana Paluzzi?) is tied hand and foot for questioning, "The Spy Who Loved Me" has Barbara Bach occupying a most interesting chair, "To Die Another Day" has Halle Berry streched out for a session with some laser cutters, and let's not forget the Bond spoof "Casino Royale" where "Number One" (Woody Allen) is scolded by his lovely captive for keeping her naked and strapped down on a table.

I'd like to add Jennifer Beals appearance in the film "Four Rooms", in which she spends most of the segment dressed in lingerie, bound to a chair and well gagged (she looks great!) :)

Hello everyone,

I wish I could cover everything with the list I posted but Hey, I did my best.
Cross dressing is Not a part of BDSM but if Society get's a taste of alternate lifestyles, we are better off. I think any hint of Kink throw at them takes us a step closer to being accepted.

although this movie was a comedy, there is the scene about the spanish inqusition in " History of the World, Part I" there's a rack, iron maiden, several people hanging from chains on the wall, some in the stocks, and in the back ground of the scene there is someone getting whipped.

Also on the old tv show "Married with Children" in the 3 part episode where they all went to London, Jefferson and Marcy Darcy end up i a BDSM club after the Bundys steal their money. and (surprise surprise) Marcy is the dominatrix [:D]

Also many romance novels contain scenes of BDSM. Bertrice Small is one author I enjopy and most of here boks have at least a mewntion of a spanking in them with several (hellion , darling jasmine) containing harsher scenes. and in most of her Skye o'malley series at least at soem point her heroines end up captured and enslaved in a harem in either Algiers, Istanbul, India, or Fez. Afew of Johanna Linsey's books also have spanking scenes in them as well.

I haven't seen anyone mention the Leatherman bar (The Blue Oyster) in the Police Academy films. Would that count?

seeing a thread title reminded me of another one, but I cant remember if it was in In Like Flint or in Our Man Flint

anywho - the hero Flint (played by a very yound and rail thin James Coburn) brands a number into a newly created (by hypnosis/mind control) 'pleasure girl' in order to gain acess to the pleasure area to save his 3 other women

both movies are early 60's, kinda campy (from todays viewpoint - the 'karate' moves especially), but well worth viewing by anyone into the James Bond-ish type genre

there are other scenes in both films as well, including a transvestite scene

(will have to find and watch them again and take notes so can post more info)

Did anyone see the article in Ms. magazine on women and whips? There is a great picture of Halle Barry and also some marvelous suffragette "art" and talk about how old the fetish of the cruel whip-trix is.

Has seen a few of those movies that were mentioned but also noticed the lifestyle coming to life on the tv screen as well. Just a few weeks ago i saw a jerry springer show where a male came out wearing a collar and short leather pants. He wanted his girlfriend to be dominat but she wouldn't so he hired a lady...she came out on the show brandishing a paddle and screaming out orders to him. Yeah ok so it was a springer show and people were laughing at it and the girlfriend wouldnt want no part of it and the lil boy backed down and said ok we wont do that....but it was still exciting to watch LOL....just my two cents worth ;)

WOW! starts writing some of these down. I don't watch a whole lot of tv, but do like the aspect of sitting down to a movie from time to time.....i think i will see what i can find with a list like this to go on *grinz* thank you.

oHH YEA
Estring
the movies
where Shrek
and Dodgeball

in Shrek Pinocio is told to tell a lie
and they say for him to say that he
has womans underwear on for the lie
but his nose dident grow which ment
that he DID have womans underwear
on. It was hilarious!

My kids went to see Shrek2 with their dad and when they told me of the movie that was the one thing they told me about. i don't think they got the whole jest of it but I DID!...

i think BDSM is being more and more accepted and slowly coming out more and more. which is great :)

StanleyW -> RE: BDSM in the vanilla MOVIES * news flash * (8/21/2004 12:55:45 PM)

I never see this movie listed - Whoops Apocalypse (1986). It's a satiric, black comedy about the onset of WWIII. I saw it once on Comedy Central about five, six years ago. Just bizarre humor.

Part of the plot revolves around Lacrobat, a terrorist played by Michael Richards (i.e. Kramer). He kidnaps an English princess and then goes 'underground' by posing as a travelling salesman of sexual novelties. The princess models all of the bondage gear - restraints, gag, etc. A good way to hide something in plain view, really.

Its De Lovley Its De Lightful Its De Learyous!!
The Cole Porter Movie was Fabtabulous!!
The theatre was allmost full of those over
the age of 60 and the gasps and oooooh no's
at the part where everyone realized He was
bisexual and had relations with Men with His
wifes permission shocked the theatre of folks
I was in as it was clear they thought they were
comming to see a film that might be on the same
lines as what they had seen of Him from the past.
I was in My delite watching all the folks realities
of their ideas about a real person blown all to hell.
The Movie its self was really well written as well and
off beat and refreshing to those of Us whom continue
to peel back the doors and wall paper to the hidden
lives of Lifestylers of the past. My mind ran to Andrew
Jackson as I watched this and I burst out laughing as
everyone looked at Me as tho I was crazy as usual.

Oh yes and for those Masters whom had comments about cross dressing
NOT being a part of BDSM.
The title to this thread is:
quote:

Alternative Lifestyles in the News

Cross Dressing AND BDSM are BOTH Alternate Lifestyles
as well as anything deemed not acceptable in society in
either todays times or times of the past so dont go throwing
out one item or kink just because it does not fit with in the
line of BDSM as You see it. I Dominate My slaves by having
them cross dress forceably. What would You classify this as? JMO

Return of the Jedi (G: Die Rueckkehr der Jedi-Ritter) (1983) Carrie Fisher as the chained and scantly clad toy of Jabba the Hut in a scene that just might have inspired one similar one in "Aladin"

LOL, had to laugh because when I was a little girl this was one of my favorite pretend scenes to do on my own...I was always some tied up helpless slave girl when it came to playtime...can ya tell the kink was there already? [;)]

Someone really ought to make a video with the best movie bondage scenes from these, then we could enjoy them non-stop! [:D]

Exit to Eden was such a lame excuse for a movie... I felt embarrassed for Anne's name to be associated with it. The book is insanely good though. ;)

I've heard the new Alexander has some pretty racy scenes involving Colin Farell and Jared Leto.. not sure how far they go though...

srahfox -> RE: BDSM in the vanilla MOVIES * news flash * (11/22/2004 11:50:12 AM)

Wild Orchid. While not obviously scene related, she does go fuck someone else just to make Micky Rorke happy while he looks on from below and to me has always looked as if he must have been having a little fun himself.

AandOats -> RE: BDSM in the vanilla MOVIES * news flash * (11/22/2004 8:34:45 PM)

A recent episode of malcom in the middle features the "dad" directing a group of muscle men for some reason. Needles to say at the end they are all pony boys pulling around his car. I got a good laugh.

srahfox -> RE: BDSM in the vanilla MOVIES * news flash * (11/23/2004 12:11:10 PM)

I didn't think Exit to Eden was all that bad, as long as you've never read the book. But maybe I just thought the guy who played Elliot was a cutie

Mercnbeth -> RE: BDSM in the vanilla MOVIES * news flash * (11/24/2004 11:57:48 AM)

The most brutal and sadist movie I ever saw came out last year -

The Passion of The Christ.

sweetpleaser -> RE: BDSM in the vanilla MOVIES * news flash * (11/24/2004 1:01:05 PM)

I never saw that nor do I want to. After all the previews and interviews regarding the movie I just knew I couldn't stomach it. I don't care how good the cinematography is. I know what happened and don't need to see the graphic bloodletting. JMO.
