Hello! I guess it's because I love reading in general, but I just love erotic BDSM-type stories. If you read stories, too, and you like to read them on lit erotica, What are some of your favorite stories or authors? If you have any, or if not, do you have any fav places to read them? Or, let me know anything else you'd like to say about the subject! For example, I often times like to read my porn rather than watch it  all though that's good too, of course, there is something about reading it that turns me on so much to visualize it in my own mind and spark my creativity (I guess because I'm a writer? haha) Well, take care!
PS This was my first post ever! Please dont make fun of me!

Congratulations on your very first post. A fine job you've done!

As for reading BDSM lit, I've only read a couple of fictional novels and I enjoyed them for the most part. However, I find I enjoy reading the true stuff much better. I love the 'how to' books, the advice books, and the memoirs and so forth. When it comes to fiction though, I'd much rather write my own, because then I getta make the story apply specifically to my fears, fetishes, kinks, and desires *grins* Not to mention the fact that my Owner says my stories make His dick hard, and I'll do that any chance I get!!!

Bird: Best BDSM type lit ever: Kushiel's Dart. It's a series, and it's amazazing.

Seriously. I'm not going to tell you anymore about it. You just have to read it. xD

It was a BDSM story that actually made me thing that D/s could be a for real lifestyle rather then justa kinky thought in my head.
However, I really like to read slash fan fiction as opposed to original material, like "Intreat Me Not to Leave Thee"- a totally hot Spock/Kirk story or "Shiver", the Snape/Harry Potter fic that got me interested in BDSM.  Yeah, I know-I'm a HUGE nerd!

PS> I will give links to those who ask in a PM.

Love to read it when ever I get the chance. Quite often I will read it while taking a bath or in bed.

I guess I got ruined by reading a lot that was poorly written.

Whenever I see a spelling or grammatical error, I focus on it and lose the "mood".

Erotica that focuses on simply physical actions and ignores emotional states bothers me a lot.

And I don't really like my own erotica (which is posted on Lit, BTW).  I wrote it as fantasy prior to RL experience and it shows.  Now that I am doing it RL, I don't have TIME to write more!

I'd rather see actual photos of bound helpless desirous submissive women than read about 'em 'cuz my imagination is definitely spurred by the lovely sights of restrained women in a variety of submissive poses.......

However, for those who are more literary in mind, there's an entire BDSM library over at
- http://www.bdsmlibrary.com/stories/
and

Welcome to posting. :) This is far from a subject you'll get negativity from.

BDSM erotica is one of those type of books that I actually make time for, and always take with a grain of salt. They aren't reality, but they are yummy. The Story of O was ok. I thought it was a true story but shortly realized it wasn't, so in that contents it's good. The Sleeping Beauty series was my first...and well...ummm...yea..it was hot. The last one i read was The Pleasure's All Mine: Memoir of a Professional Submissive. This was much more based on reality so it was good in that form, and made me realize I would never want that profession, but it was lacking in giving my hot daydreams.

When I tried to start a dialog with my ex about bdsm and what it meant to her she merely handed me a book and said something like "Here, read this - it will tell you everything you need to know". It was one of the books from the Marketplace series. I suffered through about a third of it before I gave up. I thought it was horrible and it certainly wasn't my idea of something I'd be interested in. That's my only experience with any sort of bdsm literature but it did not leave me yearning for more.

I love reading some of it... I'm picky.

Obviously I love writing it.

And good news: some of the stories from my first three books are being put out by a new publisher before the end of the year making that book seven.

So I guess I'm working on books 8 and 9 the rest of this year, all new stuff, just need to find a better publisher who can market better and get out royalties and sell figures on time.

I've only just started the Kushiel series -- I know, don't rag on me... I have over 1000 books and only just realized that I had this whole set I'd never read (actually, I found 3 sets this weekend... the Kushiel set - minus Mercy which I have coming next week, the Jim Butcher "Dresden Files" books, and a collection called "Telepaths Don't Need Safewords").. anyway, I -love- this series already. It was amazingly hard to go to work this morning -- I -so- wanted to take the day off and keep reading!

mmmm I love those books so much I had to take the attic apart to find them just so I could read them again.

I tried the erotic mind control archive, but most needed editing and that bugged me.

I had a complilation book of lesbian "first time encounter" stories, that had the perk of being real, and some of those were kinky... they made me a very happy girl.

I also *heart* the MordSith in Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series.

I wanted to write serious stuff, but learned early on that romance sold.  Not having a formal education, I was trying to teach myself to write.  I loved words and I loved playing with them.  My favorite book was the dictionary!  So when I started seeing porn and erotic stories, I was disgusted!  I found the lack of plot or anything interesting besides hard core 'let's fuck' a waste of my time.  I wanted to see if I could create a half decent storyline and went from there.  I try to put emotions, a storyline and all sorts of things in my erotica and am new at it all, but I tend to go the romance route because of where I am coming from in my learning to write process.

I do read erotic stories, but find most don't have a lot of anything I am interested in on a whole.  I use them more for learning what not to do than anything else.  I would love to find good authors that can keep me turning the page for more!

i have read the Beauty series, but they are purely entertainment. Another author i got hooked on can be forund on ... Literotica.com ... His name is "Singularity". Again it is purely a source of intertainment.  For something with substance or serious lifestyl information i wouldnt consider either of those, but reading them was a fun way to get the imagination pumping as well as a few other things.

~fast reply~

I don't seek out erotica and don't usually enjoy it but I have come across a brow-arching surprise since last week. I read "Atlas Shrugged" when I was about 18 - decades ago now. I am rereading it for a scholarship essay and because I have wanted to read it again for some time. So far, it is FULL of references to submission, some sexual and some not, which makes me wonder about Ayn Rand.
