They taught you what *they* expected of you. It doesn't make it the One True Way that all people should be dealt with. Can you even *try* to understand that simple point?

Everything I do is filtered through a Gorean Filter (with the exception of my Counselling/Therapy Practice). But that's a personal choice.

I'm curious about this post. I do pastoral counseling, and my experiences with everything in my life filter the information that I work with as a pastoral counselor. Though the terms used in discussion vary according to whom one is working with, I've found that my experiences in this life (including the Gorean ones), shape the way that I see problem-solving options and the guidance that I provide.

I noted that you said that your counseling/therapy work doesn't go through the filter, and I'm wondering how you manage that, and if there are specific triggers/tools that you use to bypass/neutralize those inputs. I can see times when it might be useful to be able to bypass that filtration, but I've always believed that our experiences are part of what makes us valuable as counselors, so I've never really considered seriously working on bypasses for those experiential filters.

It's honestly not something I thought I would ever have to explain.

All being a pro means is that there is some kind of payment for services rendered. That's it. End of story.

It in no way means that they have any more skill, insight, knowledge or that their way of doing things is any more "right" than someone who isn't a pro. I have known pros who weren't born with the sense that god gave the common dog, but because they're beautiful and look fine in a leather corset and own some restraints, people gladly pay to spend time with them.

The people you learned from were looking for you to behave in a certain way. Someone else might want you to behave in an entirely different manner. One is no more "right" than the other. They're just different.

Well, that's a start then.

I am rather enjoying sharing the pointless details of my life......... it certainly lets me know that the day gets filled! Some highlights: opened a new shower gel, White Tea & Ginger scent. Overall, I prefer solid soap to liquid. Realized once again that even a mediocre bath slave is better than no bath slave. Moved piles of magazines and papers around. Carried dry laundry upstairs. Wandered around vaguely from one task to another. Went to dinner. Went shopping for a velvet dress, ended up buying a top and pants instead.

Our darling UPS guy just came to the door. He's so nice.

The rest of the evening: packing up stuff ebayers paid for, cleaning small animal cages, knitting.
-------------
Seriously, Wolfgrrrrl, you would get along brilliantly with a former slave of mine. He felt (and doubtless still feels) that the only reality is HIS reality, and the rest of us are just WRONG. He was personally insulted by other folks' opinions, also. If you said that you didn't like okra, well you were really saying that folks who didn't like okra were beneath contempt, not that you would just happily give them your share of okra.

i have not seen one posting........of anyone ever talking about real life.

why is that?

is real life too difficult of a concept?

i really really worry that people live in a bubble world......

OR
is it JUST my view?
thanks.........for those interested........and if ya aren't........don't be climbing down my throat.....
i don't need it....

Every thing I post about is based on my experience living with my Mistress in a 24/7 relationship.

I tend more to worry about people who worry about other people - online is, and can be, as real as the participants make it.

Hell, what do you call the 1950's ideal of the family?

----------
certainly NOT fantasy... "I" was TOLD growing up it is supposed to be an american FACT.
as to your "why?"...
there is no why TO it. you just SEE IT that way. i am merely SAYING........and HAVE said.....
i am trained and taught there is more to this than fantasy. there is REAL life service and i couldn't get but a few to talk. all it seemed i got...including one domme here that thinks she is IT....that everyone HAS TO live in fantasy coz that's why they come to these boards........
i didnt and don't understand that.
nor do i understand stuff like old men sitting in a grocery deli giving the teen girls a bad time...what's up with THIS?
what is WITH fantasy? i know "I" was taught by my elders AND my 1st domme fantasy is WRONG.........so i ASK.............

now i wish to hell i didnt.

As sure as hell you wouldn't even begin to understand let alone cope with a Gorean relationship with all the BS your sprouting and I do mean a 24/7 Master/slave relationship where a slave has no rights, no nice safe words. You obvviouslt couldn't survive inb such a relationship and thus can not comprehend it. What I see is still some one throwing a tantrum and picking fault in everything other people post because it differs from your warped perspective. Do I take you seriously?? Hell No! I look at the way you capitalise which in effect gives you a similar speach pattern to a drag queen with pseudo pms and throwing a double wammie tantrum to get attention and his/her own way....... Go take some serious time off to see what other people do and have they live. That you were told and taught by toyr Elders and First Domme that Fantacy is Evil, is a load of cods wallop and those Elders and Dommee should be taken out and shot for such crap. Fantacy is healthy provided it is kept in it's place... Fantacy is where most of the classical essays and books were born and it is what inspired much of the classical music. But of course I seriously doubt that you are likely to have an interest in the finer things of life....

I've read the books...which were written on a bet that anyone will buy any drivel if it is marketed properly. The experiment would have failed dismally if a christian womens group had not pitched a fit to the publisher. The author him self was ready to admit defeat when suddenly his books started selling like hotcakes...nothing like possible "censorship" to boost book sales. Further note, the books were originally marketed to pubescent and post pubescent males between about 14 and 19 years of age. I do know quite a bit about the "Gorean" lifestyle my friend and for the most part the Master/slave aspect that everyone is so hot about is only truly found in "Slave girl of Gor". The quality of writing is dismal until the later books when he actually wanted to make money, the story lines lacked any real value or rythmn and made the books difficult to read without feeling several IQ points lower than I know I am. I'm not knocking the "Gorean" mindset but the only real difference between what you do and what countless others do has to do strictly with languistics and not form or function of said lifestyle.

This Amuses me. Iron Bear, could you please explain the Gorean outlook on putting the spare on your car on the side of the road when you get a flat...oops...I forgot, they don't have cars on gor...so....how about making flight reservations at the last second for a conference of councellors...oh yeah...no planes either.mmmmmmI guess credit cards and banks are pretty much outta the question too. OK...I understand now.

SirButchTX

Were we on Gor, you’d find an innovative form of transport called carts. Cards are drawn by beasties called Borsk (for the most part). Now these carts have (shudder( wooden wheels so flat tyres are unheard of. However axels do break and when this happens said axel is repaired on the side of the road…Flight reservations would be easy provided you had been taught how to ride a tarn and didn’t let if rip you to pieces for a snack.. However tarns do not like flying over water except for short flights, so anything like crossing the Pacific Duck-pond, you’d need to book passage on a ship. Banks were not uncommon but were more like coin exchanges and notes of credit were not unknown either. Counsellors have no direct reference on Gor but would fit under the High Cast of Physicians….. Really old chap, you’d be better reading the Gorean Lifestyles Forum and look for any of the well-written posts by Leonidas. His dissertations on what the Gorean Lifestyle is and what it entails will enlighten you somewhat I imagine.

Too late to edit, but I must apologize for sullying the tale of my day with a bdsm related comment, which I wish to alter anyway: a mediocre bath slave isn't worth it after all.

Iron Bear, you know the signals of narcissism, don't you? :)

shandra -> RE: real life posts? (11/22/2005 5:54:24 PM)

pipeing up because this thread doesnt seem to include any service oriented slaves other than veronica
u know hon it is possible to be both - kind of
i am owned p/t real kink-less servitude-only Mistress/slave by someone to whom i am no part of her sexual or romantic life, Ms is however understanding of my other (kink - driven) needs and allows me to experience these things within casual play with other dommes and would allow me to have vanilla (not so sure about D/s) relationships so long as her authority/ownership did not become disputed or interfered with
wanted you to know there are other service oriented slaves here
as to reality what do you want to know? long nights waiting to be given chores or exused, sleeping on strange couches when Ms is having fun or what i call mespace when Ms is not requiring of my presence
or the fun parts like how other dommes view me :)

veronicaofML -> RE: real life posts? (11/22/2005 5:56:54 PM)
