Oh, and here's a good trivia question. Which president created more jobs: Bill Clinton, or George W. Bush, George Bush, and Ronald Reagan combined?

Trivial question, trivial answer:  none of them.

Presidents do not create jobs.  Even the saintly FDR never created a single job.

Ummm.... Works Progress Administration? Ring any bells there?

Then again, if you really think the last 8 years have been good times for the US economy... then never mind about facts.

Yes he is a man of wonderful fiscal responsibilities. Since he took office I now owe to the Red Chinese over $12,000 along with $12,000 for every man woman and child in this country. A debt my grandson may never recover from.  Yep …Good Job mister.. notice I’ll never give him the respect of President…Bush

I don’t want to have taxes rise anymore than the next man but we HAVE to pay for Bushes follies…if not now then our kids and grand kids will.

You can’t fight a war and not raise taxes. To stick to a “I WILL NOT RAISE TAXES” simply for political gain is criminal in my mind. It is selling out our nations future for his legacy.

Butch

Funny that the revenue from Income taxes rose and yet Congress seemed to find a way to spend the additional revenue as well as the amount spent the previous years. Yet Bush gets the blame for the spending done by Congress.
What happend to Pelosi's promise about not spending without the bill stateing specificly where the money would come from?

Now granted Bush had several years of a Republican lead Congress that didn't have any better spending discipline. I've raised hell abpout that as well.
And I've certainly criticised Bush for not even so much as looking at the veto stamp until he was into his Lame Duck period.

Spending and thus the Debt is controled by Congress, with the President having only the proposed budget (a budget request) and the veto to control that spending. He's used niether very well but although they are connected the US Government Debt and the US Private Economy are not the same thing.

BTW what happened to those "economists" who predicted that this past quarter was going to be the start of the actual decline in economic growth starting the official recession?

You are correct and I loath congress...they are ALL whores. BUT...

Most of the increase in spending has been requested by Bush. Iraqi war, HSA, TSA...etc. etc. I think DoD (pentagon) has gone up from $300 Bill. to $500 bill. He wasn't likely to veto those.

The elders prescription benefit the only significant increase in social spending.

Yes, yes, BOTH parties also and far too often...even increased that spending but the majority in restroring the social spending cuts.

Look Archer...you and I both know these drunken sailors we have in congress, use the power of the minority (too much in my mind) to protect the protectable. Repubs their business benefits...dems their programs. Nobody gerts hurt and local patrons get them re-elected.

So what else is new...been go'n on for almost 50 years.

NOTE: The debt I write of in my earlier post includes ALL debt. Federal, state, city, county and personal. My point is that we are ALL supposed to be getting richer and OUT of debt. It 'ain't' happen'n.
