[q]Anyone can go to Walmart's and get about 6 shots taken by a "professional" and the result is both actual pics and a floppy disk for about $15.

candystripper [/q]

FYI
Any photo taken by a professional. even if you have bought the pictures/negatives and disk are copyrighted and still legally owned by the photographer and cannot be used or copied here or anywhere else without the written permission/release from the photographer. The only pictures you can copy with ease are those you have taken yourself.

well EvilGeoff, I read your profile today 4 times out of curiosity and you have a very narrow window of interest--so your responses may be a tad slower--but what candystripper says is sooo true, whay would we seek an empty profile?? I mean puhleez. that's like a random call out of the phone book---

KatyLied -> RE: Dominant and Master Profiles (11/27/2005 5:28:10 PM)

I know this has probaby been mentioned 1,000 times but here goes.....

Know and use properly these two words:

Dominant (who you are)
Dominate (what you do)

candystripper -> RE: Dominant and Master Profiles (11/27/2005 6:09:01 PM)

Actually, because Lam is such a pain in the ass about language, He taught me that "Dominant" is not a recognized noun -- it is an adverb or adjective.

quote:

DOMINANT applies to something that is uppermost because ruling or controlling *a dominant social class*.

Merriam-Webster 10th Edition

However, as we know, words evolve and slang becomes a dictionary definition over time. And besides, what else would we call such Men?

ZenrageTheKeeper -> RE: Dominant and Master Profiles (11/27/2005 9:17:08 PM)

1. Basic color theory. Check.

2. Actually, the one I've written for this site is definitely shorter and less jaded than the one I've written on other sites. I'm sure that with time and rejection, my new profile will become much more lengthy and cynical. The task is slightly more complicated when you put more thought into it. How does one sound macho, domineering, and impressive while at the same time, sincere and open while at the same time just being yourself? Especially in a medium where tone of voice can not be easily determined and a simple statement of intent can be misconstrued as a personal insult.

3. I do the eyeless thing. Not so much because I'm afraid I might be outted, but because those who are related to me, to whom I owe so much, might be hurt by my being outted.

4. Spell check. Checked... usually. I generally have problems with -ing as they sometimes come out as -ign. People mixing up "then" and "than" tend to get to me.

This is good basic advise for anyone writing any type of profile or introductory message for any site.

I also suggest use of proper capitalization as opposed to using lowercase and uppercase to denote a lifestyle orientation. While this may be a kink fad, the use of lowercase and uppercase designations makes for difficult reading and often conveys someone who lives their kink life mostly online.

Many other things help make a profile easier to read and comprehend. Constant overuse…..and prolific use…of those dots dots dots to replace common punctuation ….very annoying. While these are often used in IM’s…and general posts….sprinkling them too liberally in a profile…instead of using periods, commas, colons, semi-colons etc…or starting a new paragraph…..well, you get the point?

One other note of importance: be aware of commonly misspelled words and typos in your own profiles. ALWAYS use spellcheck before posting a profile! These are misspellings I just now found in one profile:
Realise = realize
Demondstrate = demonstrate
Amoung = among
accomodated = Accommodated
baords = boards
ignornance = ignorance

Great, you've been peeking at my profile, LOL

You've pointed out all my screw ups, and now i'm on my way to go fix it.

And going to shoot my spell checker along the way.

Not true? is that a typo?
I hope so because the above is most certainly True.
Check it out, you can find a copyright brochure at any photo shop.

sweetpettjenny -> RE: Dominant and Master Profiles (11/28/2005 3:31:53 AM)

Collarme does check photos before approving them .

Surely we can use photos of ourselves taken at Olin Mills, etc. These types of outlets invest no rights of their own in the photos produced; the images belong soley to the one photographed. It's similar to wedding photos; you must pay for them, but the photographer has no rights to the images even if you do not pay.

i'm gonna seek clarification from the Mods and will post Their reply.

I find that hard to believe. Plus, even if it were true, Wal Mart or whatever is not about to run down everyone who copies or posts their own pics.

I get a suprissing amount of questions about some areas of my spelling both here and on other sites so I'll reiterate it again...

I live in Australia thus my spell check is set to either Australian English or British English (dependent which spell checker I'm using. Simple folks and it goes like this.

Aussies speak Australian

Kiwis speak New Zealand

Canadians speak Canadian

British folk speak English

US folk speak American

All is a form of English most with differences in spelling the load stone of the language is the Queens English used in the UK.

In New Zealand, some of the fruit speaks? And its speaks English? Here in the US none of our plant material is vocal. How amazing, LOL.
