instead depends on the agenda driven media that editorializes all the news and TELLS us how they feel and how we should feel about an event, a person, a political program,  instead of giving it to us straight up

...do you seriously think that the media has but one agenda? That Rush Limbaughs agenda is the same as everyone elses? The media have a plethora of agendas....as does the blog that you held up in the OP as truth. Pot/kettle/black.

Posters should just make a pact that they won't ever use fast reply ever again. It's so bloody confusing sometimes. And at least, here, there weren't any quotes involved! Imagine when you get a reply seemingly addressed to you from someone you haven't yet spoken to with a quote from a third party nested into the post. A nightmare, I tell you *sigh*.

Ladies and gentleman, this has to stop.  We get the "drink the  Kool Aid" reference from Jim Jones.  The fact is that Jim Jones poisoned his followers mostly with "Flavor Aid."  Kool Aid was there, but it was not the main culprit.  Stop besmirching the name of a fine, American product like Kool-Aid.  We need not blame the delicious,. purple powder that we all grew up with for our downfall.  [:)]

SB, growing up in my house we did mostly red. Sunday night in front of "Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom" (Oh Jim, watch out for the 27 1/2 foot long anaconda) followed by The Wonderfull World of Disney (or whatever it was called). Popcorn and red. We were in tall cotton. Good times for sure, but I'm still mad at Hoyt Axton.

Did you just call Tigresse 'a lib'? If there's something more annoying than constant labelling, it's constant erroneous labelling [:(] .

If he only knew how, non liberal, I am in some things. See, that's the thing with labels cory, most of us don't fit them.

If I am a good boi and drink the koolaid, does that mean I don't have to read the article?

Hmmmmm......funny topic for someone who slants everything to fit his own view point.....
I do not get any info from a blog nor have I ever watched Colbert or Olberman(except when he was on Sportscenter) and yet in good conscience I support Obama and find little if anything of merit in Rezko, The Rev. or The Mad Bomber.
If they could, those who oppose Obama would show proof of wrong doing and not just make allegations based on some associations. Never forget, McCain was involved with Keating, a convicted felon and was known to try to meet with and sway regulators on his behalf, vacationed in Keating's home in the Bahamas on a number of occassions and never paid a dime for it until it all came to light.
Now, tell Me cory...how much did the S&L scandal cost to extricate the American public?....How much did Obama's association with the Annenberg foundation cost the public?....Rev. Wright cost you any money? Mr. Rezko?
Before you make allegations perhaps you should stop reading blogs from the right?...perhaps too much Rush Limbaugh at lunch?

I'm not making allegations as much as pointing out the kind of people the Obama has chosen all his adult life to associate with or to consider his mentors.  Since he doesn't have a track record that can be attacked or defended, it's only his associations that tell us something of what kind of President this man might be for our country.  If you are satisfied that this man who is virtually unkown to most of us is qualified somehow to lead our country in the direction that you feel is best...than excercise your right in November to vote him into office.

I also don't measure a man by how much money he costs me...which is really kinda crass...but if he is good for the country.  The S&L crisis did not cost me anything I could measure...could you?  As far as the famous "Keating Five", McCain was exonerated and not found implicated in anything criminal after a year and a half of hearings and study.  Of the five Senators implicated, four were democrats, including John Glenn, a hero and advisor to Obama.
Both Glenn and McCain used poor judgement, but were cleared of impropriety...which I will say but the Obama ads don't since they love to keep their impressionable  followers ignorant of truth.  The Senate hearings concluded,  "McCain's actions were not improper nor attended with gross negligence and did not reach the level of requiring institutional action against him....Senator McCain has violated no law of the United States or specific Rule of the United States Senate."

What other stories is Obama going to make up attacking an American hero.??  Really, is that their best shot?   Gimme a break!!  Look..your not going to convince me, and I'm not going to convince you.  Hopefully, it's the 30% if the population that is not commited that will swing left or right over the next month.

We had those old aluminum cups that came in different colours. And some nasty plastic tuperware type things.

Oh, and only faucet water in my house!! No such thing as filtered or bottled water. Or, in summertime, the garden hose.

We did the garden hose, too. That hose all curled up in the hot sun and when you turned on the water, it squirted out water hot enough to burn your taste buds for a week. [:D]

Yup, that's why I always let my sister drink first. She was the oldest after all and fair is fair.

LaTigresse -> RE: What you won't read in the NY Times or hear on Colber..Truth!! (10/7/2008 4:07:09 PM)

I was the oldest too. Used to spray my younger siblings with the hot stuff while I waited for it to get cold. Then I got my drink, lured them in and got them really good with the cold cold water.

It doesn't really make a difference to me if someone is conservative, liberal, democrat, republican, or whatever. As long as he/she doesn't come across to me as intelligence challanged, I enjoy the discourse...It's when everyone on the other side of an issue sounds like a soundbite from CNN or MSNBC that it truly gets boring...but to them...that IS truth...and I only pray that God..or Mother Nature, the Sun, animals or a statue, ...or whatever people believe or don't believe in bless them...and keep them from voting....  :)

I know what you mean.

Thay's how I feel about people who sound like the daily Republican talking point spewed forth on Fox and conservative blogs.

Not that anyone takes most bloggers seriously, do they?

Ok, I'll one-up you here.  Sulfur water.  The water at my great-aunts' houses was sulfur water, and you ain't never tasted something as gnarly as Kool-aid made with sulfur water.  Of course, the adults were drinking coffee made with the same nasty stuff.

I don't understand the villification of the term "elite".  If you were sick wouldn't you want an "elite surgeon"?  If you were flying and "elite pilot"?

Who says he's an American "hero"?  McSame got his ass shot out of the air (there goes another multi-million dollar aircraft) and was locked up with several hundred other POWs. What did he do that was heroic? Somebody tell me, please.

When used in the capacity you've presented it's not bad. When used as a class distinction (I'm better than you because I'm elite!), it's not so good.
