when you're young, everyone chalks things up to "omgz your hormones are out of control!"
which is certainly true to SOME degree, but to make a blanket statement like that about everyone of a certain age group is just silly. and to be honest, it borders on ageism. =p same thing as saying that everything an old person does should be blamed on dementia. =p but nooo you wouldn't get away with that, would you.=p
some younger people seek out older people just like some older people seek out younger people.
what about being a 20-something getting tons of messages from 50+ers?
if you don't specify something like that, it's your own issue to deal with.

califchick's points are extremely important. =p

Get away with that....I plan on using it to my utmost advantage. Someone gets mad cause I forgot something....hey wait, I'm old, my mind is going. Ya know you can't expect me to remember things can you?

As to the raging hormones...yea they still rage, and I am not even young. Of course right now I am looking at your pic and its so cute with the blanket, it just makes me want to hug you.  (I will keep the raging to a minumum cause your awful young but it's nice to know everything still rages at the right times)

Is working hard to recall ever having upset an older man by emailing them .... nope .,.. not coming up with anything. Even the ones who are disinterested, manage a simple "Thank you but no thank you" email ....

Surely if emails with a sexual content disturb you this much .. wouldn't it be better for you to not frequent websites such as this rather than to continually expose yourself to such potentially damaging trauma every time you open your inbox?

Returns to her hormones ... which are apparently raging out of control but will magically disperse at the age of 30 (also makes mental note not to be half way through a hormone driven jungle sex fest at midnight on september 27th 2013)

A bit of advise......the hormones return when you hit 40. Worse than ever (at least in my case). LOL

no see if the 20 somethings went around dismissing the 40 something attention as "hormone induced" ... we would be told to stop being so immature and get some life experience ....

thinks being in her 40's is looking better and better

ive been waiting to be in my forties since Oprah said it was the new 30s

moonvine -> RE: Clue Phone for 20-somethings (11/2/2008 2:23:35 PM)

Send em my way, since I look for 21-45 year olds.  Put it in my profile and bolded it:)   Mmmmm 20 somethings...

candystripper -> RE: Clue Phone for 20-somethings (11/2/2008 2:24:48 PM)

I do want to leave open the possibility of making more friends that age, and I want the ones I already have to be able to reach me.  Since *I* thought the *problem* was due partially to a very common misconception,. it seemed servicable to bring the matter to the boards.

*I* do not need a perfect solution -- an improvement will do.

I too used to be squicked by requests by men 15+ years my junior, until a 27 yo Marine (I was 44) kept e-mailing me for over a year, until I finally consented to meet with him.  All I can say is that he single-handedly revised my opinion of having age limits.  It was an evening I will not forget (until the Alzheimer's sets in).

candystripper -> RE: Clue Phone for 20-somethings (11/2/2008 3:12:28 PM)

LOL at 'where is Nebraska'.

It's one those big square states on the left side, Darius.  More specific information isn't expected from Americans.

Basically, I'm not willing to throw the baby out with the bathwater.

Then you get the bath water, along with the baby. It's a personal choice. To complain about the water when you have chosen to keep it is kind of silly.

I figure some people will *learn* that not *all* older members find sexaul overtures from the young members palatable, and that's all *I* hoped the Op would accomplish.

So it's a preference issue. Some DO prefer the younger members to contact them. What if your OP accomplishes turning the younger ones away from contacting those who want their contact?

Quite frankly, your OP is a complaint about your own personal preference, and yet you choose to not block out that which you don't want.

But it's made some interesting banter, I suppose.

How to gt to Nebraska from Ireland:
1) Fly to New York
2) Rent car, drive west on Interstate 80 for about 12 hours
3) Turn around and go back

I don't mean to harsh anyone who lives in Nebraska, but I've driven the length a couple of times and at the very best it is tedious.  8 hours of nothing but farm fields from Omaha to Ogalla.  Even worse if you happen to be driving through a snow storm :(

CS: How about saying in your profile somthing like:
Please, no one under the age of xx unless you're unfuckingbeleivably special and can prove in your 1st message.

That should satisfy pretty much everyone, no?

Pure, I only got as far as 27 yr. old Marine before I had to lock myself in my bedroom with my buzzy toys.  Does that make me a slut?  A dirty old lady?  [8D]

Made me laugh out load over here...my cat looked up at me like, What'd I miss??

Maybe we need to read the instruction manual - - [sm=book.gif]

I dunno, I still don't see a correlation to a phone. [sm=dunno.gif]

Maybe it has something to do with the telephone game [sm=whisper.gif]

MadameMarque -> RE: Clue Phone for 20-somethings (11/2/2008 4:28:46 PM)

Contrary to imagining that everyone should know better than to approach someone outside of their age group, if you have a preferred age group, post that.  That's the "clue."

Meanwhile, if someone doesn't state a preferred age group, I think it's a mistake to be interested in another individual, but limit oneself, over the assumption that the age difference is a problem.
