*shrug* Going back to the original post, I enjoy the idea of a femme domme get-together, but I see no reason to try and make men foot the bill for a bunch of single women to travel a long distance and stay at a hotel, just for a very low possibility that a few men MIGHT be allowed to meet them.
I would be willing to support an event (or events) which were essentially just BDSM gatherings, but oriented toward female dominants specifically. I know that a few already exist in the USA, although the names and locations escape me at the moment. As a domme I can pay a membership fee at these events, cover my own room and board, and get out of them what I'm willing to put into them. My travel expenses are my own responsibility, and I have the option of paying the same fee for my male or female submissive companions. Whether I'm single or not is irrelevant--a lot of us aren't single, that doesn't mean we aren't interested in getting together! But obviously if you are single and wanting to meet femdom-oriented folks, this works well.
Plus, events like this are more inclusive for women like me, who aren't single, but who do have an interest in meeting female dominants and femdom friendly submissives--as a photographer I'm always looking for models, and I also like making new friends. I suppose if there were people who wanted to attend the event and also had a fantasy of serving at a public femdom gathering (and let's face it, a LOT of people have this fantasy!), I could see setting up a review board which would accept applications from eligible singles to be one of a few public "footstools", bootblacks, waiters, dancers, etc. at specific sessions. Does anyone do this at the normal femdom gatherings now?
There might have to be an application fee to pay for the time and energy it takes to go through those applications, but it wouldn't be anything like $100--maybe more like $20 at most--and you wouldn't have to invest a lot of money in anyone's chances of success or happiness except your own. Plus the application process would be open to both men and women, and the uniform of people in this role could be standardized--you don't have on the pink clothes and the "public slut" collar, you don't get to go out on the floor.
Anyhoo. I do think it is worthwhile to try and come up with ways that people can meet and network, hook up and find lurve, etc.. Submissive men seem to have a particular problem with this process. As a domme, I could also very much dig a place where I can go just to be myself for a while with no particular pressure to find a permanent partner. And if you had more femdom-specific gatherings, it might provide a venue for people who want to meet a femdom without the pressure of a high-cost, high-risk "singles" idea.
I know that some of the femdom clubs in the major cities serve this function, to some degree, but maybe there are ways to organize traveling femdom get-togethers in each state, so that people would be more likely to meet someone local.
