Today I had one raw fresh from the grocery store orange bell pepper, and One yoplait strawberry with fruit yogurt.

Normally I don't eat breakfast, but I am trying to build better habits for my life and my health. Eating breakfast, and not only breakfast but a moderately healthy one too,  and eating more fruits and veggies, is one of those habits I am trying to build.

Asher if it was my choice I'd go with the fruity pebbles.

Personally though my favorite cereal was Kellogs fruit and yogurt clusters, and i put soy milk in it, I haven't eaten that in well 7 or more months now though. For some reason i just quit.

I am having a home made oat bar (recipe available on request) and a cup of black coffee.
I have found the oat bar is a good way to eat early before work and not be starved by lunch, so i dont overeat

Asher, to be Soy milk tastes way better than real milk, it even lasts longer too. Where Real milk goes bad in 3 or four days, Soy can last up to 2 weeks. Soy Chocolate milk is pretty fun too, and best of all it doesn't give me that I am sick and have a ton of phlegm to hack up and can't feeling, like real milk even chocolate milk does.

DV On the show called Good Eats, Alton brown will be showing how to make healthy and nutritious granola bars, I perked up and will be watching, since Ilove granola bars, but just not all the sugar and calories and sheer amounts of crap in them.

Today my grandson (just short of three) and I had a big bowl of oatmeal well darkened with brown sugar a couple of thick slices of sausage and toast thick with peanut butter. Other days we will have pancakes fried in bacon greaase and then topped with real butter and syrup and then finished off with sausage AND bacon on the side.

As an aside, there is a discussion of the virtues of Soy milk vs Cow milk. For myself I much prefer goat milk. Has a richer and much fuller taste then that processed stuff that passes for real cow milk of that artificle stuff refered to as Soy milk. Alas, I don't haver any goat milk at the moment as a dog pac butchered my milk goat. My step son, neighbor and myself turned that pac into fertilizer but it was way to late for my poor goats.

I went weak at the knees at the mention of peanut butter, has to be crunchy for me tho and I had that this morning... I had one slice of bread/butter cut in half, on one half I had peanut butter, the other I had lemon curd - very healthy breakfast :D lol

Tomorrow I'll aim for slimfast or a bowl of cornflakes with fresh fruit (If I make it past the peanut butter jar)

Eating much in the earlier part of the day is rare for me too.  I usually go all day with out eating anything, and then about 10 or 11 or 12, PM at night Daddy brings home food when he gets off work..  My chosen meal is always two egg sausage extreme sandwiches, and a large ice tear with sweet and low. Either that or a Terryacke bowl.

However I noticed two terryacke bowls with rice and steak and veggies and an ice tea is no where NEAR as fulfilling as two eggie sandwiches. I didn't feel full at all, where as with two eggie sandwiches, I am normally almost to full to drink my ice tea.

Now I know that is really unhealthy and  I should eat more through out the day, and I am working on changing eating habbits.

I also frequently sleep poorly * and I am one who next to never has sleep problems, so yes I know these problems are due to eating so late* and have heartburn when I eat that late at night, so I am going to try to elliminate eating so late.

Not to be a party pooper, but I hope ya don't have such huge greasy and sugary meals ALL day long, you'll be setting your grandson up for  not only a life time of bad eating habits, but maybe even being obese and having tons of health problems eating that way all the time lol.

Breakfast today was oatmeal with a bit of raw honey and some frozen blueberries (a gift from a friend in Maine...yum), a shot of wheatgrass juice and a cup of earl gray tea w/milk.  I get up early enough to be able to enjoy a relaxing meal...a moment of sanity before jumping into the craziness of work.

I usually don't eat anything until my stomach wakes up. By that time I have usually managed to drink a glass of juic and have my morning coffee. When I do get hungry, its simple, soup with lots of hot sauce, a simple sandwich or salad with a vinaigrette.
Come summer, breakfast is fruit and various juices or a salad.
Trying my best to break my self of the habit of having a coffee every morning. Drink coffee like it was pop.

Aszhrae, Normally coffee has no affects on me, so I felt pretty safe in drinking the dreck the trailer park called coffee, you know the kind that sits in a heating pot andcooks all day untill it's REALLY strong and almost un drinkable? I've drank this stuff before with no problem, so I had like 3 cups of starbucks sized coffee, from this pot.

HOLY SHIT! I was bouncing off the walls I couldn't stop going a mile a minute and I was so sick.

My stomach hurt all frikken day, I had acid indigestion VERY bad, and since this was about 6 or 7 at night I was up all night, and I was keeping my partner awake all night and he had to be at work early in the morning.

It took me two days to feel ok again.

After that Daddy made the coffee in the trailer parks rec room offlimits to me.

Theres 3 tablespoons of sugar in mine. period. and some honey.  190 calories per bar, 33 g carbs and 6g fat. For half of a day's food intake that isnt bad at all, IMHO. It means at lunch I have a small meal and I dont eat again until dinner... so it works just fine for me and my personal weight loss goals. And these arent granola, they are oats and grapenuts. I detest granola, no health food should have chocolate chips in it.
