ORIGINAL: aravain I'm interested in any methods that other people have with coping with their anger. First off, dump the psycho-babble diagnosis. It is an excuse. Say that you lose your temper and do things that are wrong. Accept personal responsibility for every bit of it. That will start you on a long and difficult journey. It also comes in pill form, but the constant drooling might be a turn-off to potential partners. I feel that you are misunderstanding something here, it is not psychobabble to realize that there are real coping methods in dealing with anger. In fact part of that is knowing that there is indeed a responsibility for ones anger. There is another part as well, some people do have a chemical imbalance which causes severe difficulty in coping with it, hence the need to learn methods. At this moment I am dealing with bizarre and intrusive anger that is not my responsibility. It is literally due to a medication side effect and I am quickly trying to learn methods to cope with it, as well as understanding that it is NOT something I am doing or not doing. This is chemically induced and it sucks eggs. Until this crap (Lyrica) is out of my system I am trying to cope with irrational anger so I can return to my 'normal' self. Mental disease can do the same thing, throw off the normal balance of chemicals resulting in abnormal thinking patterns and behavior. It is scary and personally I give kudos to people that are able to see that something is wrong and seek ways to cope with it.
