Well unless it was a REALLY long date....like maybe 6 months long....how could anyone possibly know they are compatible in one date? There is a lot to consider when you "want someone for your own". Health, finances, work, family, animals, religion, politics, interests, toilet paper under or over, china patterns, decorating styles, kinks, limits, country life/city person, expectations....OMG the list is endless. Nope, you don't have to negotiate all of them at the beginning but I would have to say that the more you come to an agreement on BEFORE you make a life long commitment to someone, the better the odds of the commitment actually lasting a lifetime.
