Good old-fashioned bouillon is one of my useful helps. Same effect as the chicken soup (cans of generic chicken noodle are always in my pantry), but no solids. The trick with ginger ale is to warm it so it is flat—nauseous combined with carbonated tends to unwanted trips to worship the porcelain throne. My mom used flat 7-Up for the same purpose when I was a kid. For those who enjoy herbal teas, lemon ginger tea is a great thing. And docs told friends with a infant who had diarrhea—while travelling in Turkey—to give the baby flat Coke. See, you can get Coke just about anywhere on the planet, and that not only kept baby hydrated but the caffeine in colas tends to constipate so it helped slow the fluid loss. Feeling like crap is all about the sleep. When I'm dealing with a throat issue, all I want is orange juice or ice cream, when I can't escape into sleep. And I'm a natural fiber fanatic anyway, so cotton sheets, cotton covered comforters, and cotton thermal blankets are all I own. Lady Delilah Deb
