Oh cool so Florida is the place to go by the sounds of things And Sunny if you got permission for us to meet somewhere that would be great. I am sure I could bribe my friend to make a detour from Pittsburgh so we could meet. Steven I will put Denver on my list of possibles as well. I was actually there briefly a long time ago when I backpacked through parts of the US/Canada and Mexico after uni One day I will travel through South America Phoenix but unfortunately it wont be this time. Thanks for the info about the beaches there Kneel forAnne [:)] And yep DC, Washington is another on my list of possibles. smiles...thanks BitchGoddessD for your suggestions as well Gwynn I wasn't sure where you were. That is fantastic.... so I will see GT post her wedding and you pre yours. Yay. smiles....thanks Windchymes for the information. I realise that with such a limited amount of time and a fairly small budget that I wont be able to see everyone and everything I would hope to see so I figured that I can work out some satellite points in between a few people I could go to those places to kill a few birds with one stone so to speak...... um not that I am planning on stoning anyone. I am flying from LA to Pittsburgh and most likely will have a few other flights, NYC to somewhere in \Florida maybe and one to Columbus and a couple of others. Angel had sent me a map with the USA superimposed over a map of Australia to give me an idea of the size of the country. I am used to jumping on flights to go the equivalent of New Orleans to LA just for a weekend [:)] Pure NYC is one of my absolute must see's so we will defnitely meet up - yay

Just a few pointers Wanders.... 1) We drive on the left side of the road over here...just like you guys do (don't believe all those movies). 2) Contrary to what people in many countries do...here, the middle finger is simply a way of saying "You're Number One!!!". The proper response is to tell them they're number one as well. (Remember to smile when you do it though). 3) If you get pulled over for a driving infraction, always remember, US police very much love coffee. If you offer to buy them a cup of coffee, they'll usually let you off. Because ours is still such a male dominated society, and most police are men, having women buy them coffee is often taken as insulting, essentially making them feel effeminate. The proper way to make this offer is to carefully fold the money and tuck it discreetly underneath your drivers license as you hand it to them. In most US cities, coffee runs about $100.00. I have some other great travel tips, but I don't like to give away all my secrets in such an open forum.

I just cant say enough about then, as for the first time in I dont know how many years...I have enjoyed being around people, or having the chance to make lifetime friends.

There are several CMers up there, and it is a city not to be missed if you can squeeze it in! I would suggest a Las Vegas Perv Convention like Steel's b-day, but it sounds like you will be a busy gal trying to get to so many places in such a short time.

There are a flock of bed&breakfasts to be had in Newport, plus some regular hotels . The Newport Dinner Train is a unique experience - campy but very interesting as it runs past the fringe of the Navy scrapyard on the Narragansett Bay. There are several places to party and the food is excellent. My favorite part is all the art galleries and bakeries/candy shoppes along Thames Street. You can drive to Point Judith (Galilee) and take the ferry to Block Island. I love Newport - never a dull moment there !

I think wanders should go to Colorado and swoop in and take Dark Steven's heart and then they can have a ... a .. something and we can all meet up again. Yeah. that's a good plan. Oh and please put angel in your luggage. She'll fit in one of those big duffel bags. Or an oil drum. I saw it on NCIS.

Like I said my memory isnt best and that was some 30 years ago, Im sure all that has changed. We didnt go higher up the state than Colorado Springs. I have yet to see Denver.. And always happy to lend support grins

Wanders, I hope you have such a blast on your visit to the states. Would love to meet you, but not a lot of those from the boards close to where I am in Missouri, so wouldn't be an exciting thing. I'd, and I am sure many others, love to hear about the trip after you are home again. It sounds like it is shaping up to be quite an adventure!!
