The mouthpiece of the Republicans getting trashed by the Republican chairman.

• Limbaugh's latest attacker: RNC Chairman Michael Steele

On the same night he was offering the keynote address to the Conservative Political Action Conference, Rush Limbaugh drew criticism from an unlikely source: Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele.

In a little-noticed interview Saturday night, Steele dismissed Limbaugh as an “entertainer” whose show is “incendiary” and “ugly.”

Steele’s criticism makes him the highest-ranking Republican to pick a fight with the popular and polarizing conservative talk show host.

But the new RNC chairman’s extraordinary comments won’t sit well with the millions of conservative listeners Limbaugh draws each week, and Steele aides scrambled to limit the damage Monday morning by trying to change the subject.

What KO doesn't realize is that no one refers to him as a comedian or entertainer because he is neither. He's a failed sportscaster who is now a failed commentator. He could be elected Senator in Minnesota though.

They would be happy to praise him instead of criticize him BUT....The Republican party is now realizing they made a big mistake in moving away from the Reagan Republicans and getting into bed with the religious right.

They now understand that their real power base NEEDS to be middle America... the same power base the Democrats captured with Obama. So the first step is to distance themselves for the likes of Limbaugh and the fanatical part of the religious right.

Mike Steele understands that the only way for the Republican Party to regain power (and that's his mission) is to recapture the middle without alienating the base. He may be currently the only Republican who does understand this, but they've got to start somewhere. And moving Limbaugh back to the margin is a good move in that direction.

So,..no one here ever has a fight with someone in their family? Heck I'm pissed at my sister..doesn't mean I don't love her..
Lets discuss this Rush thingy in say...a year, going into the Congressional race and see where the republicans are going. Right now..it's every kid for himself trying to be the Alpha.

Yea, I know...CNN, MSNB and libtards like Matthews, Olbermann and Michelle see great TV and great fun in all this..and hey..that's fine. I love to especially see Keith turning red with joy...and throw that paper at the camera....he's so.....so passionate....reminds me of a CD I once knew. hmmmmmm.

Actually, Rush himself referred to himself as "and entertainer, and a comedian." It was during one of the many flaps where he insulted gay people. He was trying to defuse a threatened boycott of his sponsors at one time, after he made some comment about how "gay people deserved to die of AIDS." It was years ago when this happened, early in the Clinton administration. Ever since, there's been a segment of the left that will never let him forget it.

He marginalized himself, because his money was on the line. "Oh, hey, folks, it was just a joke... that's what I do, because I'm an entertainer... I tell jokes to make the show interesting." (So much for standing up for your alleged "principles.")

Limbaugh = fat assed snivelling coward, when it gets down to brass tacks.

Olbermann is an idiot too, but he wouldn't be on the air except to counter people like Rush who built fortunes by misleading people.

I think Emanuel was spot on: Limbaugh is the mouthpiece of the Republican party. He is their leader. He represents them. He is no longer worthy of our contempt as a useless radio talking head, because he finally got a real job. I take Limbaugh seriously now: and hope and pray that he continues with his rhetoric of lies and hatred. As he is little else than a reactionary who has nothing to offer other than his negativity and hate, he ensures the Republicans will stay as far away from the White House, for as long as possible. Go, Rush, go.

If anyone has seen Rush in the last few years they know he is no longer fat. Some of those who have to resort to child like name calling should themselves look in the mirror. Maybe they are a little jealous that he is now heard on 670 + stations every day and earns upward of 30 million per year. Maybe Mr. Oberman is a little jealous to...

No matter how Rush looks from the outside (and he IS fat, by the way, but that's irrelevant). It's the fact that he has the personality of a fathead that matters.

But you are right, I should stick to facts: I should have said:

Limbaugh = formerly (supposedly) oxy-contin drug addicted, hypocritical coward.

Better?

I remember how he stirred his "wonderful listeners" up in Colorado after the passage of Ammendment 2, the anti gay rights initiative sponsored by the fundamentalist christian right wingers from Focus on the Family, and "Der Furher" Will Perkins. (Who was also a welcome guest on Limbaugh's show several times.) As I recall, there were at least three men who were beaten into the ICU by a few groups of "ditto-heads" in the days that followed that election. That's my problem with this creep. He whips his listeners into a frenzy, and then sits back on his lothesome, pimpled ass and laughs while the low IQ sheep who tune in, do his dirty work for him.

He's a hater.
He's a bigot.
He's been proved wrong.

My favorite current Rushism was his saying that the National Organization of Women spoke out to say it was ok with the Muslim doctor who beheaded his wife when she filed for divorce. According to Mr Limbaugh, NOW stated that is was just a matter of "cultural differences". Of course, in a statement aired on a less....how to put this nicely....less bullshit radio show, the head of NOW had no problems in stating without equivocation that her organization took a dim view of the beheading of women no matter that the culture of the beheader.

Way to go Rush....keep on feeding the fear, taking the drugs and popping the viagra. The cons need something to believe in and the rest of us can use the laugh.

Ya know,
I don't really care for what he says, but it is about what he says, not who he is. That's one major problem I always see here...don't attack the issues, attack the man. It really is cowardice of the highest nature.

NOW, if you want to say he's wrong on issue X or Y because of Z or W, then fine. That's a discussion. But otherwise, it isn't going to convince anyone...because there is never an argument made without a slam. And that immediately puts your whole argument into a suspect state.

What issues for me? Abortion, religion, and gay lifestyle for three.
