ORIGINAL: popeye1250 I've been working out like an animal at the gym for the last month or so and my gut just keeps getting bigger! It should be going down but it's not. Now I'm thinking of "going to the mattresses" and fasting for a few days or a week. How many days is optimal? What types of liquids should I drink and how much? I'm pissed! Plus, I quit smoking 10 days ago but that doesn't bother me too much anymore. And I haven't been eating that much more than usual. Instead of walking my usual 3 or 4 miles on the beach I'm going to step it up to 6 miles. Any medical people in here with experience in fasting? I'm up to 240 pounds and they said my "ideal" weight should be 209. A big fat shit!!! A fuckin' Whale belly!!! This gut is stretching out my shirts now fer cripes sakes! I want to take a knife to it! I figure if I can go for 5 days that'll shrink down my stomach so that I can hold less when I eat. Given the fat you're describing is abdominal, as well as other factors you're describing, I highly recommend you see a doctor about this. I'd have extreme reservations and caution with about 80% of the advice given in this thread if I were you. See a doc.
