quote:
ORIGINAL: Owner59 Hate crimes aren`t just intended for individuals. They are also against the community. The two male murderers were "homosexual hunting" when they tricked and attacked Shepard and left him to die. They were attempting to TERRORize the gay community as well as the victim. For this reason, hate crimes are different and need extra attention. But it's ALL hateful. If you terrorize people in any community, you should pay the price. If you hunt down and murder anyone of any stripe, you pay the price. If you want to be a hateful person, and do hateful things, you pay the price for those crimes, for those actions. Who cares if you hunted and killed because you hated tall brunettes, or hated lesbians, or gays, or blacks, or whites, or crack whores, or band nerds, or whatever. Shouldn't everyone's life have equal value in this context?. Why should one type of hatred be worse than another? If one commits murder, he certainly didn't do it out of love.
