Unbelievable ;-).... most of you took the test.
Sorry, but I don't need to take it.... I know I'm incredibly assertive. I fail all 'team-building' tests which I'm very proud of.... who wants to follow the rest of the crowd - lol.

You rarely hesitate to address the issues that concern you the most. Whether it’s noisy neighbors or a raise you feel you deserve, you’ll immediately bring it to attention. You express yourself freely, asserting your personal rights with the confidence that your request is reasonable. As a self-assured individual, you are comfortable with letting others know you disagree with them, especially when you feel you’re being treated poorly. This approach shows that you feel you deserve respect and expect others to treat you this way.

These tests are basically meaningless, because although i have the ability to stick up for myself i know it does not make me any less submissive, nor does it cause friction between me as slave to Master Andy, just makes for some interesting and lively conversations about a lot of things!

I think in a Dom/sub relationship, a submissive HAS to have some kind of assertiveness in the beginning. As a Dom, I believe we need to look after submissives and their needs. And if we are not forfilling the needs, crossing the line etc, then the sub should be telling us so we know that we are out of line ourselves. Its different to letting a sub walk all over us and I admire a sub who knows how to stick up for herself, but at the same time knowing her place.

I can certainly be assertive...

***be right back...I have to ask Mistress for permission to be assertive***

Seriously, though...I'm so assertive in my everyday life that I'm usually mistaken for being dominant.  ***shivers at the horrible thought***

The answer is yes, absolutely.

But wait...

Probably not. Unless....No, definitely not.

Except~~~ The answer is Yes. Resoundingly. Yes.

Unless it's no. Then that would be resounding too.

That's my final answer.

Except...

submissives can be assertive and dominants can be not assertive it is in the task and situation. I'm in the army and i have to be both assertive and servile as well. i am a submissive by nature not position. one can be a leader and not be dominate as well.

On the assertiveness test, I got a 75.  This is good considering I am a substitute teacher, which is a hard job but I am also learning that I have to be assertive when this comes to teaching or else the students will run me over.

The social skills are 66.  Well, that figures because I have a few close friends.

fun topic... I am generally assertive in life when neccesary. How else is one to navigate this planet as a social and or employed human? We each IMO deserve to recieve and should give respect, and when it is not given or it is  abused, speaking up politely but directly for oneself can only help things. I am also quite submissive in the presence of a Dominant person, but even there, good communication helps. My score was 89:
"You rarely hesitate to address the issues that concern you the most. This approach shows that you feel you deserve respect and expect others to treat you this way."

Snapshot Report

Ability to speak for self

 82

You seldom hesitate to address the issues that concern you the most. Whether it’s noisy neighbors or a raise you feel you deserve, you’ll immediately bring it to attention. You express yourself quite freely, asserting your personal rights with the confidence that your request is reasonable. As a typically self-assured individual, you are fairly comfortable with letting others know you disagree with them, especially when you feel you’re being treated poorly. This approach shows that you feel you deserve respect, and want others to treat you this way.

Hmmm, not surprised. Okay off to take the social skills, be back

Edited to add social skills Social Skills score 87.

Your results show that your social skills are as sharp as a tack. People most likely feel comfortable with you because you know what it takes to put them at ease, and you willingly use this knowledge to do so. You are fortunate to have excellent social skills because this puts you at an advantage in many ways.

My asseertiveness score is 48, but then I am a switch who is primarily submissive. Also, our culture tends to reward female submissiveses and male dominants. In my case I am used to having to train a lady into being a dominant. Most of them take it well.
