Not reposting the same post would also help.

So as not to derail the thread if anyone would like to contact me via collarme email i'd be happy to explain why works are not apart of Christ's salvation for us.

John 14 .15    If ye love me, keep my commandments.

James 2.20    But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

And here all these years I always thought Christ was the King.

Amazing, ain't it? I quote red-letter text, the words of Christ straight out of Matthew, and a "Christian" turns her nose up and insists he's wrong.

Kirata, if the Jews hadn't killed Christ, his own followers would have done it soon enough anyway...

A Christians salvation has ZERO to do with helping others

I really like reading some of the people that post on this thread.  I believe on the whole that some really good things are discussed, but seriously, y'all get a be in your bonnet and it's stone the christian time.

Breathes posted which portion of the statement she was responded to.  Owner clearly stated that he thinks that works are a part of salvation.  Thing is he is wrong stating that in regards to Christian doctrine.  It's not.
Now the whole discussion of works and faith is a different thing altoghether(I'm not hijacking this thread, because someone already posted about this which I have dived into), but salvation comes via the belief in, and faith in Jesus.  Otherwise there wouldn't be Christians because they would be Jews.

It would be my honor to talk to ANYone that has questions about Christ's salvation. Or anything else you feel like discussing. i'm not saying i know everything, and if anyone has a question i can't answer i'll try my best to find out.

So come, lets reason together, one, with the other.

...no offence, but reason is nothing to do with it. You have faith. Congratulations. i don't. Go me. However if you really think you can reason with me in order to bring me over to your side you'd be doing something that hundreds of years worth of theologians and philosophers have failed to do. Come up with a logical proof of God.

The invitation is there guys, and is sincere. If anyone has any questions, or would just like to have a discussion, it would be an honor to speak with any of you. my collarme mail box is always open!

i had a situation recently where i VIEMENTLY disagreed with the way someone was handling something here on collarme, and i spoke unkindly out of emotions....however, i realized what i had done, and contacted the person via collarme email for discussion, rather than make the "disagreement" public....

All i'm saying is, if you want an earnst discussion about Christ's salvation, just contact me....i'd be glad to talk with you.

Peter had just said he would follow Christ to prison or to death. Christ remarked that Peter would deny him three times before the rooster crowed. The shit was about to come down as the soldiers were minutes away from apprehending Christ.

Is this a new translation of the Bible?

"For it was prophesied that Peter would deny Christ when the shit came down.  So it is written".

I honestly don't have any questions about my salvation.  I'm good.  And if I do have questions, I'll ask my priest, not some guy on the internet.
But thanks for the offer.

I'm assuming that wasn't directed at me even though it says you are replying to me.

Just my 2 cents and totally off the topic.
Food for thought:

I have met and am friends with wonderful people of all faiths. My best friend is a devout Christian and we been friends for 35 year or more. At one time her minister told her she would have to give up her friendship with us, and she said no way. We accepted each other for our deeds not our beliefs. Neither of us would never become Christian, and  she understood that. On her honeymoon, she received an email that i sent to those around the country that knew hubby well that the Dr. said he only had a short time left. Little did i know she would read her email, but she did. They both interupted their honeymoon and she came to sit beside hubby's death bed. Never did she try to save him. She honored us both with love that is deep. She also knew that the concept of salvation only through Jesus just confuses us. As parents we could never send our child to hell because she didnt believe.. I am not Jesus and i will not speak for him. The bible has been rewritten so many times, and history has always been slanted. I not here though to discuss this either. People are known by their deeds in life, and how they care about others. This is what cements people together. It is not a shining dress to adorn yourself one day a week, it is an life process, perhaps many life times.

For those who have a driving passion to save another soul are only following what is deep within them. I do not find fault with them. We all have a deep passion for one thing or another. I do understand this and will do my best to avoid that mentality and need for people to convert me. I am blessed though to have known those of that faith who support missionary work, but at the same time reached deep inside themselves to find that love is stronger then converting another. To embrace and hug the person as a whole while they are dying, then to spend the last day or so in trying to get a person to find eternal life in Christ.  What an accomplishment of love given by her, and we both appreciated it. That to me showed a major accomplishment that was led by love.
