I think it's a cultural thing, actually. After living in the United States for 30 years, one thing I've learnt is that, by and large, Americans don't understand how to banter. They label it "flirting" and it isn't. Whilst I cannot speak for others, I can certainly guarantee you that I am *not* flirting with PforH. I don't see anything wrong with bantering. It keeps a lot of people from taking themselves far too seriously, though, obviously, not all.

The problem with banter is that it takes a thread off topic. Then people stop reading it. Ultimately the only people interested in the bantering are the two people doing it -- so take it to private email, unless you have a need to see everything watching you. Hence the "get a room" reference. Why the need for attention? Is "banter" only effective if you do it in front of other people who ultimately don't care?

There is also a special place for "banter" on collarme -- it's called random stupidity and polls or whatnot. I'm taking Shatki's earlier position and just going to leave threads where Peon starts his schtick.

Firstly, what you see as 'flirting, posturing and drawing attention to myself' is not. It is the way I relate to people, when I'm not making serious points, or even while I'm making serious points. Secondly, it was you who was first accused of leading this thread off-track, not I. Thirdly, almost every time I've made a serious point to you, in any thread, you have ignored it - as, indeed, you have here. In fact I believe I was the only one to reply to you in one of your recent threads - in a serious tone - and you ignored that, too. Fourthly, it is simply stupid - or downright disingenuous - to make the claim that I, on my own, am the 'cause' of these 'breakdowns in threads'. Other people are always involved. Other people often - usually, in fact - start these chains of banters. Look back on this thread - did I start the bantering here? And lastly: are you accusing all these people - mostly dominant women, note - of following me like simpering schoolgirls? Do you really see me as that charismatic and that powerful?

You will have to get used to the way I express myself, or find a room yourself - another chatroom, or another forum, perhaps.

This is all very curious to me...particularly about the question of 'authenticity'. Months ago I admitted to a straight male friend that I liked to troll gay chat rooms posing as a guy and cyber the gay boys on slow nights. It's a lot of fun and I'm just as good male as I am female. However, my friend was HORRIFIED. He bitched me out.

And yet my thinking is: so what if I'm not REALLY a guy? Am I ever going to meet these people? NO.

But in some ways he was right. Especially if I kept up the charade and talked to them over and over again. Even if it's play for me, for the person on the other thend...a very real person with real feelings...it would be unkind to let them care, with me knowing it's all a lie. Same with pretending to be a Domme. If someone is paying because they feel for a small fee they can be connected with a real live Dominant Woman and can have a little piece of her time...it would destroy the fantasy to find out later she's not. Or on the flipside...if they never find out, for them to approach real dominant women thinking they will behave similarly to their False Phone Domina. I think Aakasha posted a thread in this vein under something like "Why FemDoms don't exist" or whathaveyou. Guys get the wrong idea from people just playing a role and think that's how it is in real life.

But...barring all that, I also get that blushes needs to put food on her table and a roof over her head and if playing False Phone Domina on NF accomplishes that...I'm just glad she has a way to support herself and isn't having to live on the street. This economy has been rough on all of us and I can tuck my pride away to yield on the side of compassion.

Fox I think that when a man rings up for phone sex it is a concious decision to indulge in a fantasy it's not important what the other person is as long as she is fulfilling that fantasy in a convincing way. The difference between this and trolling the gay chat rooms is, as you say, that people do not actively participate in your fantasy but in fact think they are building something real which is cruel. I'm not having a go at you i just think there is a difference [perhaps slight] between the two.

Possibly Fox but I think quite often if they were actually given the chance to be her boyfriend they would run a mile, the same as many ''subs'' on here like the fantasy and thrill of cyber but wouldn't dream [or possibly that is precisely what they'd do] of meeting for real. That might be bollox but it seems right and I am so rarely wrong

LOL Starbuck! I do agree with you though, fulfilling a fantasy when both parties CONSENT to the deal is a world away from faking gender and messing around with someone.
