Yay for fixing your kitties!  Always a good idea [:)]

Viktor loves boxes.  He jumps inside them, then peeks out from the top, hoping I don't see him, then gives himself away by chewing on the flaps.  If there's a box flap out there, he needs to shred it.  His contribution to society, I think.

He just had breakfast and is sprawled out in front of the patio door, enjoying the sun.

cashie does the same thing...

Doing the math, I think cashie was born roughly the same time that Mookie died. Cashie may be Mookie reincarnated which explains a lot.

GreedyTop -> RE: What is your cat doing? (8/27/2011 9:34:55 AM)

NV... Cashie gnaws on ANYTHING cardboard... and lately almost anything else *sigh* If he wasnt about 2 yrs old, I'd bet he was teething...

Zephy..he's about 17-19 months old, as best I can figure...

zephyroftheNorth -> RE: What is your cat doing? (8/27/2011 9:37:39 AM)

Yeah that fits. Be afraid, be very afraid! Cuddles are used to disarm so that nefarious, bad, bad things can be done. Sleep with one eye open at all times.

GreedyTop -> RE: What is your cat doing? (8/27/2011 9:39:15 AM)

like I dont already?? lol

zephyroftheNorth -> RE: What is your cat doing? (8/27/2011 9:41:44 AM)

Sorry wasn't thinking. Between cashie and amos (you do still have Amos don't you?) of course you sleep with one eye open.

GreedyTop -> RE: What is your cat doing? (8/27/2011 9:49:01 AM)

Amos is too much a wallflower, mostly.....

Cashie makes up for that....

NuevaVida -> RE: What is your cat doing? (8/27/2011 10:03:38 AM)

Greedy, If Viktor wasn't 4, I'd think he was teething, too!  He just loves to chew.  I once gave him a toothbrush and he'd sit there, chewing on the bristles, and then walk around with it hanging out of his mouth - it was just too cute.  I didn't like him running around with it like that, though - I could easily see him bumping into something and pushing the toothbrush into his throat lol.

But boxes and bags - oh yeah, they get an extreme makeover [8D]

Being handfed chicken tidbits again.... What a life!

*Oh, no....her kittehs aren't spoiled at AAAAAWWWWWWWLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!*

*SNORT*

Says the one who chopped up the leftover Chicken parm for her 4 kittehs......but I know I sperl mine!  They chomped it all right down.....all you heard was little 'NOMNOMNOMNOM" noises.

It could be worse, though. My late Grandma and Aunt on my mother's side used to actually cook fish and chicken specifically for their cats. When I was a child and stayed with Grandma, I remember her buying and cooking up smelt only for her cat. She'd also cook chicken, turkey, and other types of fish, only for the cat! My skinny little Aunt used to exist on Lean Cuisine dinners herself, but would buy and cook up fish, chicken, and turkey for her cat, which she herself would not eat!

So by comparison...my two don't seem too spoiled. They do have to eat what I'm eating, and in the very limited quantities I feel are best for them. I don't really think cats should be eating human food at all, but admit I can't take them staring at me with imploring eyes, so we've reached the "tidbit compromise."

Now on the other end of the spectrum was my late Grandma on my dad's side. She believed the only use for cats was out in the barn catching mice, and wouldn't have dreamed of even letting a cat in her house. One of my clients, who grew up on a farm, feels the same way about cats. When she asked me what my interests are, and I mentioned cats, she looked puzzled. She feels their proper place is in the barn, and doesn't understand why anyone would be interested in them, or why they'd even be allowed in the house, let alone doted on.

GreedyTop -> RE: What is your cat doing? (8/27/2011 10:36:17 AM)

cashie has a paper fetish - specifically toilet paper and paper towel.

I apparently didnt get the bin I keep TP in closed tightly enough before I went to work last night.... *sigh*

NuevaVida -> RE: What is your cat doing? (8/27/2011 11:00:14 AM)

LOL I know the feeling, Greedy. I have to keep the bathroom door closed (always) and the paper towels covered, or it's a confetti party around here.

His latest adventure is chewing the rubber tips off the door stops....

For God's sake, don't get complacent, Amos is probably biding her time, letting you get distracted by Cashie.

This box was waiting to go down to the recycling bin......they usually go empty, but apparently, Squeaks thought it was a perfect fit!  I had to sneak it out under cover of darkness.

I have learned that there is a definite size comparison for kittehs and boxes....the bigger the kitteh, the smaller the box!  She couldn't turn around or lay down, so she sat dozing in the box for a couple of hours!

And I just noticed that the name of the litter is right under her widdle face.......wasn't intentional on my part, but very appropos!  Who says they can't read????

GreedyTop -> RE: What is your cat doing? (8/27/2011 2:12:29 PM)

omg Gracious used to do that too!~ there would be pieces of her (usually frmo around her waistline..shhhh) that would hang over the sides as she dozed... so cute!

Charnegui -> RE: What is your cat doing? (8/27/2011 2:15:47 PM)

Kitties can read soul.... honestly they can.
That picca is weeeeeeee to cute [:D][:D]

But I'll show you coming week why my breed of dogs are called the kitteh's amongst dogs ;)

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (8/27/2011 2:16:47 PM)

Absolutely! Mookie God love him used to squeeze into the box from his wet food, which was about 3 inches high and ohhhhh about 4 inches too small.

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (8/27/2011 4:09:05 PM)

My sister got one of those chirpy birds for her two kittehs, and Itchy has hidden it from her brother, Spook.  Sis has checked all the usual places and hasn't located it yet,  I suggested getting one for Spook, but she said that the Princess would only take that one too.

She said when she first brought it home, neither of them were interested in it...it just sat in the living room on the floor.  They decided it was worth checking out only after midnight, when the quiet was at it's peak so EVERYONE in the house got to listen to the (annoying) little toy chirp.  She said it didn't sound that loud in the store!
