Does that mean you de-chirped the chirpy toy...or did Cashie kill it?

We had lasgna tonight-  Shirley went to see her sister.   I sprayed the cat down today-  she feels so pretty-- now.  All fuzzing over her coat.

Wow...we have a storm here, and the kittehs are freaking out.  All 4 of them came screaming into the living room from their hidey holes from the last big "BOOM".  I took a rubbermaid tub down to the bushes and put the kittens in it and laid it on it's side so mama can get in too.

Greedy, I can send Cashie another chirpy toy if he needs one!  (And NO, you can't send it back!!!!)

That would be wonderful, Miss Greedy. I'll cmail it to you.

I had a feeling those babies were younger than you thought, s2s. I've had a lot of litters in my home & at 6 weeks they're able to do a lot more than wobble & just barely starting to play. It would be better for their socialization if you were to take them now & hand raise them, but I understand that you can't do that due to having to work. You probably can't take them to work with you like I did Tucker, the Fucker. LOL I'd suggest that you go out there as much as possible when you are home & handle them so that they get the idea that being around humans is a good thing.

Poor Pookie got all matted up this summer & I've had to clip his hair down on his back. Booga let me use the wire brush on him to get his fur nice & purty, but Pookie doesn't really like me very much. He pretty much just tolerates me because Booga, his brother likes me & well, he gets food & stuff from me.

I've had a cicada in the bedroom area for the last several days, but I think it finally died from lack of food. I haven't heard it since I got up this morning. Thank the gods & goddesses!!

OK YinYang is a completely adorable name!

I love all these great names our kitties have. [:)]

That was my thought too, Linnea.  Mama is not a big kitteh, she probably only weighs 5 pounds herself, and it seemed like one day she was puffy, and the next, not.  I thought she lost her litter, but she had them in the front bushes and moved them to the back about 2 weeks ago.

I do go down and handle them, pick them up and talk to them.  Mama knows that I won't hurt them, and the scent of me and my other kittehs doesn't seem to bother her.  One day, one of the little guys was alone, and when I talked to him, he came out of the bushes right to me.  I thought maybe she'd abandoned him, but she'd just moved them again, and hadn't gotten back to him. I did take him upstairs, but gave him back when she showed back up in the bushes.  Again, she accepted him just fine.

Even as young as they are, they are already half the size of Mama.  Toby, the daddy, is a medium sized tom, my kittehs are bigger than he is.  I keep an eye on the little runt, but he's catching up to his brothers in size.  Once they are eating cat food, I'll take them in.  I just can't do the bottle feeding thing because of my job.  But they are being protected and watched here.  And they'll have homes.

GreedyTop -> RE: What is your cat doing? (9/17/2011 8:03:53 AM)

I did not un-chirp the chirpy, it seems to have died on it's own.

today, I collared the cats. no ceremony (basically, I just grabbed the first one to meet me at the door - Amos - and put it on her so fast she didnt know what was going on... same procedure with Cashie).

Amos has had a collar before, so after getting hers off a couple of times, and me putting it back on, she seems resigned to it (hers in bright pink).

Cashie.. well, let's just say that Mom got a phone call from me and it took me several tries to tell her what was going on - I was laughing too hard for her to understand me!

first, he just sat down with a WTF look on his face. Then he tried backing out of it. When that didnt work, he started going in circles like he was chasing his tail (not quite sure what he was expecting THAT to do). of course, in between, was the head whipping back and forth trying to see what was on his neck, combined with the attempts at biting it off and scratching it off. the LAST attempt (that I have seen, anyway) was a serious Ninja move: Backward Kangaroo.

They both seem resigned to their fate now.

I couldnt find any collars that didnt have bells on them.. so it will be interesting to see what happens when I try to sleep... if I DARE to sleep.. Teh Kittehs PLOT!!

(I just wish I coulda gotten any of this on video....)

ETA: Cashie's collar is black.. well it was better than the funky blue, or almost chartreuse options...

Angel didn't go out last night due to a storm. She's out there making up for lost time now. The bonus is that the change in time threw her unwanted boyfriend off and he's not over here in the yard with her, much to Angel's delight.

Misty is wandering aimlessly around the house, like she's looking for something to do or get into.

Here's a pic of the little ones......I coudn't get behind the bush too far, I didn't want to wake them up and scare them.

They are just so tiny and cyooooooot, and soft and fluffy!  And Mama is even letting me sort of pet her, too.  She's still skittish, but she's taken to rubbing against my leg every so often.  She's a sweet little cat, she talks to me when I go outside.  The little dark tiger kittens look like her.

The one looking at the camera is the little runt....he's usually sleeping on top of the other two.

Monkey the bells are easy to take off. the metal circle they are on is easy to pry apart. On the other hand the bell makes ambushes more difficult as the bell gives the cat away.

NuevaVida -> RE: What is your cat doing? (9/17/2011 11:49:44 AM)

Greedy that's so funny (sort of, poor confused little guys lol).  Did you get "break-away" collars?

s2s omg that's just too much cuteness!  [:)]

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (9/17/2011 12:02:37 PM)

Greedy, my kitteh's harnesses are all color coordinated to them!  KB's is red, he's more black than anything, Smooch's is dark blue to go with his gray, Boo's is a sort of turquiose and brown, and Squeak's is neon pink w/stripes.  C'mon, if they gotta wear it, they can at least be fashionable, right?  Why add insult to injury?

And they are funny when they get new things....even now, when I put the harness on KB, he'll fall over sideways as soon as I get his leg thru the strap, thus making it diffucult to snap it shut.  And he lays there like a dead body til I get him hooked up and open the door.  We did have the same acrobatic stunts that you did the first time they had them on.......yeah, it's too bad you didn't get video!  [:D]

I wish seriously I had vid of when my late, lamented Noodgie got a collar... he did Olympic sized Backwards Kangaroo!!! I swear, my sides hurt from laughing!!! Then , when he saw himself in a mirror with the collar... the whole hiss/spit/swipe thing!!! (followed by more Backwards Kangaroo)

meanwhile, his sister Gracious was well, hell, it is THERE. fuck it.
