Boozy, you're such a sweet suck...erm, person for doing that with those furbabies. (Yeah, I know...that coming from the one who worked with three litters from her ferals and am the owner of the last one of the last litter.....I say "sucker" with love!) When I left my lovely apartment, Sissy was due to pop anyday. I'm sure she's brought her litter up, but I don't know who's feeding them, I think the neighbor lady next door is, when she can get around her bitch neighbor. Thank goodness winters here are mild, they can get cold, but there are places that the ferals can go to stay warm. The thought of strays ou in the cold in your neck of the woods breaks my heart.

But yanno...once you get more than two, there really isn't a difference......I never thought I'd have 5, but here I am. Crazy cat lady in training! (Course, I was crazy BEFORE the kittehs!)

Guess the 98 degree heat is too much for Angel today. She begged to go out, but wanted in again within 10 minutes. She wants to enjoy her new air conditioning system that was installed on Friday.

LRR, my mom had to put down Tabby a month ago, and Lacey, Tab's sister, is still calling for him. Jade, the dog, finally just gave up trying to find him. Seeing Lacey looking and hearing her calling for her brother just destroys my mom and dad. He ended up with stomach cancer; they had no idea until it was too late.

Animals mourn just as much as we do, but it's so much harder because they don't understand "He's not coming back." KB was lost for a very long time after losing his dog. It was only when I brought Boo and Smooch into the household that he snapped out of it.

Well, the kitten pack outside has grown - earlier today my son discovered that there are not 2 gray ones (Smokey and Ash), but THREE!!!! And I know he is right as I also saw all three of them at the same time. The good thing about the grays is that each of them has a different length hair, so we will be able to tell them apart. My son is now feeding them twice a day, and took a pair of old flannel sheets and donated them to the cause. The flat sheet he folded up for them to sleep on, instead of the hard deck. And the fitted sheet he hooked around the end of the railing and the table, making a wind barrier for them. And soul calls ME a suck!

I did managed to get a pic of Buttercup tonight and will post it tomorrow. I also managed to get within 3 feet of her before she got skittish and bolted. The grays are really nervous and take off at the first sight of us.

I wish I could get my hand on them because I would love kitty cuddles......they look so soft!

Thank you, the remaining 3 girls stayed close by my side all night. They all sensed the sadness in the house.

Pretty's little boy has become quite the lovebug. I went out to the car this morning and he was al about the leg weaving, head-butting my ankles, doing the chin up/begging for scritchies, etc. things. I practically had to do a football throw to get him away from the front door long enough for me to get in without him! (no, I didn't throw long with him!!).

Pretty is in heat again. Yay.

Oh yep...I do know that feeling

A colleague from me currently shares daily her nightmare with her ex who still lives with her (from 1st of july she can legally chuck him out) and in such moments I say (and said to her) "well...as more I know about men as more I love my cats...now you might get a better picture of why I got 5 of them )

awwww, BK, {{{{HUGS}}}} to you in your time of loss. At least the others are giving you comfort....I know it's not the same, but the love makes the loss a little easier to handle.

And Boozy, at least your son comes by his suckership honestly!!!!!! The little guys should start warming up to him if he keeps feeding them. I was lucky that I got to the litter w/Bit in it early and started handling them when they were about 4 weeks old. He's just the sweetest little boy......the only thing that changed about him as he got older was that he doesn't sleep curled up under my chin anymore.....I really miss that! Maybe when it cools off this winter and I start leaving windows open. Bit's new trick is crawling under the comforter and biting my leg. And it ain't no little love bite...he's trying for skin! A bored kitteh is a dangerous thing to have around! I hate it when the others won't play with him....he comes and chews on me.

Angel has an upcoming vet's appointment Saturday for her annual physical and shots, so I brought the carrier in a few days early for her to get used to it. She apparently doesn't have a very good memory, because she went right in the carrier and is still in there now. Misty, on the other hand, went and hid the minute she saw the carrier and didn't come out for about a half hour. Guess she figured that since I wasn't making an effort to catch her, I wasn't planning to take her to the vet tonight and it was safe to come out.

Spicy is playing his "ignore me" game....cause he feels in heaven here....

we have lots of fields here with lots of mice...so once he goes outside he rarely comes back before 12 hours outside

Last night I could hear him meaowing at 1.30 am or 2.30 am and I left him outside the day before at 8.15am....I have seen him lieing behind a parked car around 8pm and wanted to get him in but that bastard wasn't having any of it and demonstratively sat underneath that car when I went downstairs

Now I have just been outside at 10pm and as he was sitting on a wood-stick which are stuck around of one of the fields, of course, he had - as usual - no interest to come in....way too busy, getting in control of the mice there

It was actually cute to see 3 cats, occupying 3 fields here....sort of each of them having their territoritry...

On the plus side my neighbour from the ground floor got the impression the mice in her garden are becoming less....at least there are less often mice holes to see than it was before we moved in...so he seems to be doing a good job....though the mice might disagree with that view....

Angel has become smarter and did not fall for the "tuna trick." I put tuna in her carrier to lure her in, planning to shut the door on her and take her to the vet. She did nibble on the tuna, but kept a wary eye on me. When I'd get within two feet of the carrier, she'd dash out. I'd go sit back down again, she go back in, but would dash out again when I got within two feet. I ended up having to throw a sweater coat over her to catch her, then put her in the carrier.

She got a clean bill of health. She of course was all lovey-dovey with the vet and the vet tech. Everyone down at the vet's is in love with her.

I want to officially go on record as the WORLD's biggest sucker for kittehs. As in MONUMENTAL!!!!

One of the giirls at work found and adopted a 3 week old kitten. Last night, while her hubby was going outside, the little guy tried to run out the door, and he didn't see him...the little guy ended up getting caught in the closing door. I cried with her this morning when she told me about it. Like most of us, they are living payday to payday, so vet money right now isn't available until Friday. The little guy is moving around, wobbly, but he appears to be able to move his legs, and when she pushed on his legs a bit, he pushed back. He's still eating like a pig, and is pooping, so he might just be really sore. Her hubby sat up with the little guy, Mao-mao is his name, all night, just holding him and bawling like a baby, he feels like total hell about it.

Now here's why I'm a sucker......she told me she didn't have vet money, and just before we left, she mentioned that she'd fed the last of the kitten milk to him, but she didn't know what to give him til payday when she could buy more milk. Enter the sucker....I gave her my last $7.55 for her to get milk for him. She tried to refuse, I pushed it on her...my kittehs can eat chicken and like it.....the little guy is too small to miss a meal, and his system can't take cow's milk. Dayum......I just know how helpless she feels because of what I went thru with Bitty when he was about 5 weeks old and he got that eye infection. I told her to call around and see if there wasn't a vet who would see the kitten and wait for payment. If he's not doing better on Thursday, she'd bringing him to work and finding a local vet...she lives about 45 minutes away, and her hubby can't get off work to get to the vet's. My heart is breaking for her, and I'm praying to the god that protects little kittehs that everything comes out okay. It's not helping any that tomorrow is a holiday.

Cross your fingers for the little dude, guys, please?
