Thanks, I haven't heard anything from her, I'm hoping that no news is good news in this case.

They think his leg is broken, they were taking him to a vet today. I hope he does ok, The girl who has him quit today for another job. But he's doing much better, still eating, just not moving much.

We were discussing working at home today at work, they actually offer it to the overnight folks, and I had said that I definitely want my work life and home life seperate, but another reason is that if I even go into the bedroom to sit down at the computer, I am immediately SWARMED by kittehs. I can imagine otalking to some patient on the phone with a kitteh chorus of "FEEEEED MEEEEEEE!!!!", or one of them walking across the keyboard while I'm in an account.....yeah, right! ANd closing them out is no good, because KB will get his paw under the door and try to take the damn thing right off the hinges! No, I'll drive to work, tyvm!

I'm glad they are taking Mao-mao to a vet. Hopefully he will be okay.

I did the work-at-home thing for 2 1/2 years and hated it. We didn't have any other option. I would have disliked that job even in an office, but HATED it from home due to the isolation factor. Nonetheless, it got me through the recession and for that I'm grateful. It took me a while to train Lily (may she RIP) not to jump on the desk and sit or lay down on my paperwork. Their squabbles several times a day were distracting, too. There was little interpersonal contact on that job, so they only interfered with phone calls a few times. A couple of times they shrieked during telephone staff meetings, but no one paid it much mind. If I had been dealing with customers, they might not have been as tolerant.

Amos is currently plopped down on the chair next to me (and managing to take up more space than I do), whic of course means she keeps head-butting my elbow while I type. Cashie is trying to get into kitchen cabinets. Thank god for baby locks! The squirt bottle just makes him look at me like I'm insane.

*sigh*

My guys still respect the squirt bottle.......they just don't respect ME! I gave up trying to keep kittehs out of cupboards a looooong time ago.....I just got used to walking in the kitchen very carefully.....after running into a cupboard door a couple of times, we dumb hoomanz learn to be careful! They usually don't bother things in the cupboard, unless they are edible, but even then, they're good about leaving things alone. They usually just end up sleeping on my pile of dishcloths and towels. The ebilest glare I ever got was when I wasn't looking and grabbed a towel and flipped KB off the stack. Laughing at him didn't give me any brownie points either!

Angel respects the squirt bottle, but Misty doesn't. You can spray her until the cows come home with no effect whatsoever.

Mine don't snore, but they run in their sleep...they've been known to talk, too. I don't know what they think they are doing, but it's usually growling at something. Sounds pretty fierce, actually. Mine are a pretty peaceable bunch, except when Boo and SMooch pick on Squeaks, who scares the drap out of all of us when that gray cat comes around....she literally shrieks at him and beats on the windows. First time she did it, I thought someone was being killed outside the patio. Not the best way to be woken at 3am!

Yeah, Misty has woken me up like that at 3:00 A.M. on more occasions than I can count by shrieking and flinging herself against the window due to the sight of another cat. Several years ago she had a "boyfriend" who would come up the window just to annoy her. She was missing for a month and he came to the window looking for her for her quite a few times, but gave up after a few weeks and never came back. He never tried again after she returned home.

Now that she's on wet food, she's like a little alarm clock. Since she gets fed at 6:30 A.M. Monday through Friday, she feels she should be fed at that time on the weekends as well. I wake up to being meowed at and batted with a little black paw. I don't mind, though, I'm just happy she is eating. With CRF, she needs to keep her weight up. She's so tiny to begin with and doesn't need to lose even an ounce. Angel at 13.5 lb., on the other hand, has no problem at all keeping her weight up.

KB expects breakfast at 5:30 no matter WHAT day of the week it is...and what sux is that's exactly an hour before my alarm goes off! I've tried to lock him out, put him in kitty jail, everything I can think of to make him wait that hour.....I've even been known to beg him to go away. It's just easier to get up and feed him than it is to try to wait him out. And to add insult to injury, when I do get up, the little bastage runs in and goes to sleep in the warm spot! ARRRGH!

I will say one thing about the wet food--I am now able to eat dinner in peace. I dish out the cats' dinner, then sit down to dinner myself, and they don't bother me. They actually prefer canned food to human food. That definitely was not the case with dry food.

Beware of sugar in some wet foods (most of them actualy). Its cheap, its bulky and it rots their fangs.

I was completely unaware of the practise of adding it till I bumped into some swedish pet food that advertised 'no added sugar'. Of course now I have to explain to visitors the 'Mit Elk' cat fud. They get reindeer on X-mass :-)

Spicy is currently away the 2nd day

I am glad that he ain't on our road, so he should be fine, but still would prefer to see/hear from him

With him its possible that he walked over the field to try to find a single home for himself at the houses there somewhere...he already tried to move to my neighbour in the UK...as it is obvious that he wants to be the one and only cat in a home....so I am not instantly deathly worried about not seeing him but of course would still prefer to know where he is

Well...hopefully tomorrow or the day after....

My others are at home and fine....thankfully they don't want to go outside for long period of times, my 2 girls are barely out at all (once they chewed some grass they just want to go back inside to puke there) and the other 2 boys have seen enough after 1-3 hours outside....

its just spicy, as previous homeless cat, that he can be outside for longer times at times

Well, the older one has Chronic Renal Failure and is on a special canned food prescribed by the vet. I checked the label and there's no sugar in it.

I'd have preferred to keep the younger cat on dried food, but she will move in on the other cat's prescription food unless she also has some canned food of her own. I checked the label on that and it didn't have sugar, but had "modified food starch" which may also not be good for a cat's teeth. So where do you purchase this Swedish cat food with no sugar?

I know that Sojos has no sugar also.

Quigley is outdoors, looking for dessert.
