Hug and prayers Luci, to you and your fluffball. I know how stressful and exhausting it is to deal with such a situation. There's so much one wants to do; relieve their suffering, yet it seems there's so little we can do.

My kittehs had some serious wild shit going on this morning. All 5 of them were running around like a bunch of little tornadoes, across the bed, across the table, bouncing off the walls, in and out of the bathroom....I have no idea what set them off, but it is totally rude for them to run across the bed (with MY SLEEPING body in it, mind you!) while they are playing Daytona 500. At one point, Bitty overshot the toilet seat and fell in, and then in his "terror" proceeded to run across the head of the bed across my pillows and face. I'm still not sure who it was that followed him across the same path since I was busy trying to wipe the water out of my eyes. This went on for over an hour......they were running around so fast, I couldn't hit a single one with the squirt bottle.....and I know they were snickering about that too! Finally, they all collapsed in a kitty pile on the bed and slept for a few hours.

Like living with a houseful of 2 year olds........

My ragdoll, Sasha has been literally climbing and jumping the walls down the hallway, and running all over(she is declawed)and growling. She has been like this ever since I went out of town on NYE.

Our pride of Feline overlords are going batshit this morning as well. I was out till late last night and the Wench let the Mau's sleep on the bed which was very cute to come back to. Finding them all curled up asleep together.

Angel was such a good girl last night. She could tell I had insomnia, came and put her head on my shoulder and her cheek against mine and purred softly until I fell asleep. About an hour later, though, Misty stepped on my head and woke me back up, LOL.

Sophie and Willow have settled in very nicely. So much so, that Sophie has her own box!

What a beautiful Calico! And I'm jealous that you have a gas-range stove and I'm stuck with electric...^

I keep telling you people that cats are working to enslave humanity. Look what they did to the Ancient Egyptians, most advanced civilization of its time, think of what they could have accomplished IF they had not had to serve and worship cats.

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (2/7/2013 8:44:15 PM)

Lynn, the efficiency I'm in right now has a two burner electric cooktop, and that seems to be one of Squeak's fave places to sleep. Seems like the only stoves in apartments anymore have electric stoves.....I'm terrfied that one of the cats would walk across them, so after I use the burner, I fill the pan with cold water and put it back on the stove. It's worked so far. (And yeah, I'm jealous of the gas stove too!) I also took two cookie pans and flipped them over on the butners so at lest if she HAS to sleep there, she has a stable surface.

Now the cupboards....that is a totally different story! Those cabinets that are open would be FULL of kittehs in my house. They feel compelled to check them all out when I move into a new place. There have been a few instances where I've opened a cupboard and been surprise by someone tumbling out because they were leaned against the cupboard door......not sure who was the most startled!

No surface in the house is immune from kitteh use.....all I have to do is turn on the computer monitor and the table is entirely covered by kittehs....and considering that 4 of them top 20 pounds, that's more kitteh than available table space, so there is some overlap. Eventually, someone gets pushed off the table and goes off to pout. Even as I type, Boo is taking up a large portion of the space, waiting for me to give him scritches.....and of course, I can't refuse!

This is an old pic, I don't have the computer desk anymore, but this is just ONE of the kittehs in place. This particular furbaby is my Squeaks.

JeffBC -> RE: What is your cat doing? (2/7/2013 9:59:43 PM)

LOL, that is SO freakin catty. You have what there... 2.5 sq. ft. of counter space so of COURSE the cats would want to crowd onto it. All the much more spacious, soft, and low spots are clearly inferior.

Like soul2share I'm kind of surprised the open cupboard didn't attract a cat or two.

My life would certainly would have suffered without them.

I always say Viktor and I saved each other. I needed something to take care of, and he needed taking care of. Those times I've been physically hurt, he's been right there. Even when I have bad cramps, he curls up right next to me and purs.

And OMG does he make me laugh. This morning he was batting a little piece of foam up and down the hall - pouncing, meowing at it, chasing it in fast motion....it was hilarious. Now he's just curled up on the foot rest part of my recliner. Sweet boy he is.

Ah, how very true and beautiful, Nueva. I am quite sure, were it not for cats, and many other animals, domestic, farm and wild, I would have been gone long ago. Like you, when unable to care enough about myself to keep going, I always had them, that I might care for them and have that responsibility to them, which gave me purpose to keep going. I know it was selfish, but I fortunately NEVER did it at their expense, as too many humans do. I was always sure to meet their needs; mental, emotional, physical and social. Yep, they've saved me more than once. And when I've been hurt, physically or otherwise, they always come to assist.

What incredible little healers some of them are! A friend of mine has 3 Chihuahua's. One of them, Nacho, is such a naturally born, powerful healer, he literally takes on what the others often cannot (humans as well). When Ellie was recently Rabies vaccinated, as her nervous was so sensitive (even before the vaccine), Nacho took on 2 sets of seizures, which were, and would have been, hers, had he not taken them on. What an incredible critter he is.

Why? Because it's there, and she's a cat. 'Nuff said? They own it all, don't they?!

I just found some deep cookie pans and put them over the burners, thanks for the idea!

Your kitty is adorable- if a bit of a computer hog. :3

MysticFireTopaz -> RE: What is your cat doing? (2/9/2013 12:30:06 AM)

My kitties love it when I get packages in the mail. I got two today and brought them in and set them on the floor. Both cats sniffed the packages for about 10 minutes. They must like smelling the scents of all of the various people who handled the packages. It certainly isn't what's in the packages (a book in one and some vitamins in the other).
