Today is Misty's birthday. Well, not really, but that's the date the vet and I decided she should have since she was a stray and I didn't know her true brithday. In honor of the event, all three cats get to have tuna today.

Lolly-cat is getting to learn how to control the new dog Mia (a Jack Russell) that moved in 4 days ago. At first Lolly would hide in my room, now she allows the dog in the same room as her and even played a little to day before Mia (dog) offended her somehow, that ended up in snarls and hisses and keeping a distance again.[sm=fight.gif] They match in color too...lol both are ginger and white and Mia has a love heart on her side, Lolly-cat is yet to appreciate this. I have a feeling they will end up friends, hopefully will be company for each other anyway.[sm=pillowfight.gif] Mia is 6 months old, Lolly-cat is 10 months old but bigger by a third, she was the biggest in the litter and will end up a huge old cat. I have had her on a strict diet for 2 months since she was spayed as the vet said she was overweight....she hasn't lost any despite being on expensive Lite and mature diet dry food and fresh minced no fat meat. It is a worry as I don't want to end up with a cat with kidney disease or diabetes... do they have gastric banding for cats???? [sm=pigsfly.gif] (I had named her Lily but grandchildren kept calling her Lolly-cat so that became her new name[sm=ofcourse.gif])

Shelly, some cats just get fat after being neutered or spayed, moreso the females than the males. No amount of diet changes will help....I had a cat that was no bigger than a minute until after she got spayed...then she grew to be almost 30 pounds...I've had other females who didn't gain any weight at all. It's probably hormonal, since they remove all the plumbing.....pretty much like a hysterectomy in women. But having the dog there with her will be a great help, since they WILL Be chaing each other around before long.....you'll be praying for them to stop! And since your puppy is still a smaller dog, then I'd kid-proof your place.....the dog will try to follow kitteh wherever she runs to......mine weighed 54 pounds and did it! But she'll get exercise playing with the dog.......lots of it!

He just brought in half a bird, and left an individual flapping wing on the front porch [:(] . He's actually licking his whiskers [X(] . There is blood on the snow outside: it would be quite poetic, were it not so tragic. I love my cat [sm=hearts.gif].
