Now my clothes drawers.....that's another story.....many a time I've gone in the bedroom to see that the drawers are all open, and kittehs are asleep on the clothing inside........

That reminds me of the time when I was a child and heartbroken because I thought I'd lost my kitten.  I looked and looked and looked all over the house and didn't find him.  I thought he followed someone outside without their noticing.  Later that evening.....I heard some scratching coming from the underwear drawer.  I opened it and out he hopped.  Apparently I left it open for a few minutes while getting dressed, he hopped in there, and I shut it without looking.  Now I've learned to check all drawers and cabinets when looking for a kitty.

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (12/13/2009 11:05:11 AM)

Oh yeah..hide n seek.....another kitteh favorite!  Mine tend to hide when they sleep....I'll go looking to see what no good they are up to, and will turn up 3 of 4.....Smooch is my sneak, he's gotten outside on me more times than I can count.  But the point is, I'll look all over, calling the MIA kitteh, getting more and more frantic.....checking closets and cupboards, inside and outside...I've even gone so far as to check INSIDE the fridge.....when I'll catch a glimpse out of the corner of my eye of the MIA one, usually hiding up high someplace, looking at me like "HEY!  SHUDDAP!  I'm tryin' to sleep here!  All I need is an answer......just to know they are all accounted for.....but what do I get???  Evil kitteh glares...and I swear they are snickering at me....cuz the other 3 usually knew where MIA kitteh was......I think they just like watching Mom lose it!

Now the first place I look is UP......and that's when they are hiding DOWN......

heh.  Wait for the time that (like my late Simon) the figure out how to get into the OVERHEAD cabinets and remove stuff without disturbing whatever you have stored there (except for what they want.. Simon got the catnip.. in a sealed plastic margariine tub... got it open too.,...)

I can do ya one better....my dog and KB would tag team the cupboards and shelves....KB would get into or up on wherever the loot was, knock it down, Shiloh would rip it open, and they'd share.......little oinkers.....went thru 4 bags of kitteh and goggie treats one afternoon while I was at work!  BIG bags......I knew they'd been up to no good cuz neither one of them met me at the door that night......BUSTED!

Misty will pull my hair to wake me up when she thinks I've slept too long.  She's used to me getting up earlier on weekdays and gets concerned if I stay in bed longer on the weekends.  So considerate of her.  I can turn the alarm clock off, but not her, LOL.

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (12/20/2009 11:07:31 AM)

Mystic, just so you are aware....I have Misty's long lost brother living here with me.....KB will do the same thing to me....altho he does it to me when HE'S had enough sleep, or is bored, or is hungry, or just want's to say "HI MOM!"

But to his credit, he's saved me from being late to work more times than I can count!  He even seems to know when it's my days off, so he gives me a little bit of extra sleep time.  But my new work schedule here has him really confused, since I rotate my workdays during the week....and my days off change every 28 days.

Right now, they are all sprawled out doing what kittehs do best....storing up their energy for when I go to sleep!

Yes, KB does sound like her long-lost brother.  Misty will also wake me up when her bowl gets to be less than half full, as that's just not acceptable.  I usually check it before I go to bed so she won't wake me up for that reason.  She will also occasionally do it when she just wants me to hang out with her.

Misty has also saved me from being late to work.  She  isn't very good about figuring what days are my days off, though.

Lily is fuming because she overheard me kitty-talking to the outside cat, whom she detests.  She knows when I am talking to Dusty rather than a neighbor, because I don't use "kitty" talk with the neighbors.  She stands behind the door, waits for me to come in, then gives me a major attitude, LOL.

MysticFireTopaz -> RE: What is your cat doing? (12/23/2009 1:53:34 AM)

I happened to leave my purse open on top of the table, so of course Lily is busy snooping in my purse right now.

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (12/23/2009 8:51:05 AM)

MysticFireTopaz -> RE: What is your cat doing? (12/27/2009 12:50:20 PM)

Lily is having a great time hopping in and out of the Christmas gift boxes I haven't thrown away yet.

Misty got confused and thought it was a work day, so woke me up at 7 A.M.

oh, no..Amos is home alone.. my friend John is checking in on her, doin the food and water thing... but I can be almost 100% certain that he will not see her at all when he's there.  I'll pick Gracious up on the 30th. so Amos will have me to herself all night.

I'm not certain if I should be frightened or not

ShaharThorne -> RE: What is your cat doing? (12/27/2009 2:10:43 PM)

Early this morning "Bo", Lizard's dad, caught 2 rats in the traps and went to deposit the bodies on a tree stump.  The neighborhood cats got a treat this morning.

The neighborhood remembers me as the crazy cat woman who fed the strays.  These days, I just feed the cats that are dropped off on our corner of the woods. They keep the mouse population down (scare the snakes too).

Well, as long as you don't go to sleep, you should be fine!  [:)]

My evil beasties are hanging out, KB is trying to get Squeaks to play w/him, she's hissing at him telling him to go play in traffic (I'm sure of it!), Smooch has staked out the cat carrier again and Boo is hiding someplace taking a nap.

ShaharThorne -> RE: What is your cat doing? (12/29/2009 12:33:05 PM)

The strays are thinking of taking over the trailer.  Mom forgot to feed them the scraps.  tomorrow I will get a big bagof cat food so they can still have something to eat while the storm is blowing in (these are feral cats so they always run away from me).

MysticFireTopaz -> RE: What is your cat doing? (12/29/2009 3:58:31 PM)

Haven't seen Dusty (my outdoor cat) at all today.  However, every time I opened the door, one of the two overweight white neighborhood cats was eating out of his bowl.  They love it when he goes on an excursion so he doesn't run them off and they can eat without interruption.
