Bless you for saving the little waifs! Fie on those previous owners who would not have given them a chance.

twistedwillow -> RE: What is your cat doing? (9/28/2010 1:42:28 AM)

Thankyou Rosalyn,

I am not a cat person, give me a dog any day of the week, but I truly fell in love with them last night at their 2am feeding,
they all curled up on my chest in a big fluffy ball and were all purring as loud as can be,
and thats when I thought OMG I love these little critters and the heart got full and a tear ( or 10 ) formed.

Willow, you have a special place in heaven for doing what you're doing with the little ones!  And yes, kittehs are sneaky that way.....the sneak in under all your doggie defenses and work their way into your heart!  I've converted many a dog lover into a cat lover.  I love dogs too, have had some great ones, but kittehs are a better fit for my lifestyle.

Mystic, my kittehs do the space thing on the bed.....by morning, especially if it's cold, I'm all squished in by 4 little bodies.....and I have a king sized bed, bought especially for them!  Only Squeaks will crawl under the covers with me, KB usually hogs the pillows, also king sized, and Boo and Smooch are on my legs.  Squeaks is usually someplace close by, apparently, that is the way of her breed.......she's a Maine Coon.  Right now, she's on the little tray table next to me by the computer...I had to put one there to keep them off the keyboard!

Phoenix, did Urmel use the litter before you changed it?  If so, you might try introducing it slowly by mixing it with the old stuff.  Fortunately, mine will use whatever's in the box.  If I could just get rid of the ammonia smell!  I've tried all sorts of different litters and odor blockers, but short of totally changing out the litter every day, I haven't been able to stop it.

Rosalyn, that is an absolutely gorgeous kitteh.  My oldest right now is at about 11 years.....the invincible KB.  3 of mine are just domestic shorthairs, but Squeaks is either a Maine Coon or a Norwegian Forest cat...she looks like both.  I got her from a friend who was thinning out her herd of 8.  She's a little lover, when you pick her up, she hugs tight and mushes her face against mine.  She was found in a trash dumpster.  I hope whoever put her there rots in hell.....

also extremely intelligent.

Indeed they are [>:]

When summer was pregnant with Urmel and Merlin she ate snails/slugs and on the first day when she dragged 2 of them inside I took them away from her....when I did that the 2nd time to bring them back outside (I binned the 2nd as that one was gone for sure) I came back seeing her peeing on my sofa....that was done on purpose from that attitude lady [>:]

He had started using it, he wasn't as quick on it as Merlin was but he just had gotten used to it...and I think I just go back to the old one by now...am getting a lil bit tired of drama with him and to be fair on them cats don't like stuff sticking on their paws and that light wooden stuff easier stucks on their paws than the other material...so I think I call it a day for now, maybe (only maybe) I will start it again next year (after moving and dissertation and all that stuff is sorted out). This morning I woke up with 2 poo places on my bed from him and just before I got up his mum was about to join in, following which I pushed her off the bed [>:][>:]

I aimed to change the box today now but I don't have the time to leave the place really today as I have a heck of a lot to do now with my move....so will do it tomorrow, but only use a little bit, rest of it goes with me to new place.

MistressRosalyn -> RE: What is your cat doing? (9/28/2010 12:16:19 PM)

Here is a pic from a 3 years ago, I am one loved human! The Siamese mix (Ysabella) was rescued as a kitten from the hotel I worked at. She got knocked up before I could get her fixed, and the result was Wyatt (Stinky), Virgil, Morgan and Spud. Hey, I didn't name Spud, my hubby did! Besides, he thinks that when I call him Spuddy-wuddy, I'm really calling him "O handsome prince", so he's OK with it!

I'm holding Spud, the one at my knees is Stinky, and the black one at the bottom is Morgan (now deceased).

PeanutTigerinBox -> RE: What is your cat doing? (9/28/2010 3:48:13 PM)

Gosh thats awesome [:)]

My furrys aren't like that...at present Summer and her son urmel do sleep in my bed but that might change again when Urmel gets older as summer might only sleep in my bed now due to urmel sharing it with me.

Pepper comes to bed when I go to bed but as she always kneeds her paws onto my painful tenderspots from my fibromyalgia (on my ribcage and my shoulders, we both keep pissing each other off (as she isn't allowed to paw where she wants to and I don't like it where she does it). So she usually goes off, lieing onto the desk instead...sometimes I find her next to my feet in the morning but rarely...

Curry used to enjoy to sleep in my bed when he wanted to (and he is a joy when he wants to cuddle as he seems to inhale it like a drug addict) but again, since the little ones were born he prefers to sleep on the sofa. Spicy isn't a bed cat either...

So I just hope that Urmel continues to stay in my bed and summers next and final litter as well...as I never had such bed-ignoring cats before [>:]

I once had a cat, Gina, who used to crawl underneath the duvet including during daytime and you had to double check the bed before you sat down as you might end up sitting onto her...

MysticFireTopaz -> RE: What is your cat doing? (9/29/2010 5:11:06 PM)

All three are snoozing away--Angel on the sofa, Lily behind the chair, and Misty on my bed.  Little does Angel know that there's an Advantage treatment in her imminent future.

PeanutTigerinBox -> RE: What is your cat doing? (9/29/2010 6:54:42 PM)

spicy helped himself to lie in the bedroom he felt too disturbed in the busy lounge (am packing to move tomorrow and way behind [8|])

urmel has luck because I decided now not to go to the vet tomorrow for his 2nd vaccination, will sort that out at my new destination with him instead (can't afford anymore to waste 2 hours time to go there and back).

summer is resting on the sofa and I hope she stays there as she is as clingy as never today. she kept showing me every time how to walk from the lounge to the hallway when I carried a box as if she wants to show me where to put it [8|] smartass birman [>:]

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (9/30/2010 5:34:30 AM)

Phoenix, she's actually stressing.......she knows something is in the air, and that may be one reason why she's peeing on your bed, and Urmel just might be following mom's lead!  My kittehs did the same thing when I started packing the boxes, well, not Squeaks, as she'd never done the cross-sountry thing, but the boys knew.  They stuck to me like glue, and talked my damn ear off!

Rosalyn, that looks like my bed!  I'm really not joking when I say that I got a king sized bed for my kittehs...it was literally the ONLY way I'd have room in the bed.  It always surprises me how much space they can take up.....nose to tail tip, KB is 3 feet in length.  And of course, they take it up the MIDDLE of the bed!

Right now, they are all just prowling.....I can't sleep, so it's got them all messed up again.

OohAahMrs -> RE: What is your cat doing? (9/30/2010 6:12:36 AM)

Asleep at the bottom of the garden, wrapped up in a blanket.

pahunkboy -> RE: What is your cat doing? (9/30/2010 6:38:09 AM)

nice pic.

My cat is meowing and purring.   She wont like the rain.

pahunkboy -> RE: What is your cat doing? (9/30/2010 12:23:47 PM)

My cat has separation anxiety.  LOL.

FelineFae -> RE: What is your cat doing? (9/30/2010 1:25:38 PM)

The kittehs are watching Eddie Izzard with me.

Daddysredhead -> RE: What is your cat doing? (9/30/2010 3:32:59 PM)

Chloe-kitty is being bribed by my ex into becoming friends.  (courtesy of a box of kitty treats)

MistressRosalyn -> RE: What is your cat doing? (9/30/2010 3:43:31 PM)

Ooh! I wish my kittehs liked Eddie Izzard too! Mine just like to watch Scrat from Ice Age.

Right now, Spud just came into the office for love, and settled for the blanket on the floor, and Hobbes in on the bed, totally unaware that Spuddy is physically closer at the moment than he is!

MysticFireTopaz -> RE: What is your cat doing? (9/30/2010 3:52:13 PM)

Just got one of those laser beam cat toys.  Misty and Angel love it, but it scared Lily so badly she went off to hide in her "den" (a private area under the 2nd desk in my office that's partioned off by a couple of stacks of books).

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (10/1/2010 4:57:41 AM)

Mystic....give 'em some 'nip first.....and don't be drinking anything while you're doing the laser thing.  Cuz you're gonna laaaaaaaaugh for ass off!

Wha????  It's not like I'm being a mean kitteh mommy......but it's funnier than a rubber crutch!!!!!  I also like running them around in circles til they get dizzy and fall down.......but only KB and Smooch will chase the dot, apparently Boo and Squeaks have figured it it's a no-win situation.

I agree with you in regards to walking with me all the time but the peeing and pooing was way before that. summer had accepted now to use the new litter box material but her son was still having none of it. I went back now to the other stuff as I am tired of their outcome on my bed [>:]

this morning FIRST TIME EVER I woke up 4 cats next to me. managed to do a picture via mobile phone will upload it once I find that cable.

spicy never ever was anywhere near urmel but today they were lieing so close to each other that they even touched their paws....

seems they are happy now to take the comfort from other cats in the the house with being in new surroundings...

curry, pepper and summer explored the garden yesterday evening already (curry and pepper are living there already since almost a week) and urmel followed where I had to keep a close eye as I am told we have foxes at the bottom of the garden and I don't want him to end up as meal....once I had enough from bringing him back inside all the time (I was carrying my boxes inside - but thats another story and I wrote it down at I admit section) I placed him on a top shelve as at least I knew he is too small yet to get off there...that at last kept him inside [:)]).

Now I hope to get the rest of my moving done over the weekend to be finally completely at my new flat [:)]

soul2share -> RE: What is your cat doing? (10/1/2010 1:25:44 PM)

Well, they just ate, Squeaks is curled up in a basket on the book shelf, and the other 3 are off snoozing off dinner.....someplace.  KB prolly sucked up the warm spot on the bed.
