KB is sitting here next to me, boring holes in my head with his eyes...he's been going back and forth between being whiney and clingy to prowling, getting up on tables, knocking things down and trying the doorknob on the front door. Not sure what he wants, food isn't working, treats either.....and I've been giving him Fancy Feast cuz he doesn't seem to want the Friskies anymore....I don't know what else to feed these guys......at least Smooch, Boo and Squeaks eat the dry food. KB will if he thinks I'm not looking. CATS!

Binx has finally got some sleep behind the TV (I guess my elbows have been hitting her) and she is outside now. I guess she is prowling about.

they are laying about in the coolest places they can find... so hot here and rainy, not nice weather at all for kitties

She is back behind me, watching Get Smart. I think she has something up her sleeve besides laying on the afghan while I am working on.

She's just teaching it how to swim!! Don't worry, if it's the dyed little furry mice, the dye won't bother them....it just turns the water pretty colors. My mom's cat does this all the time!

Good to know, about the dye. It's one of those play-n-squeak ones that have a little electronic squeaker in it, they're her favorites. She smacked the squeak out of it the first day. By the way she's contentedly gnawing on it now, i think that she was "adding flavor". [:'(] Kind of cute to think of her as imitating me when she was singing, as i tend to hum when i cook. i suppose this means it's time to put down some wet food for her, little desert creature descendants need their wet food.

KB was running around like a whirling dervish, jumping on the furniture, flying off the table and over his brothers. He gets these wild hairs once in a while and goes nutso. He's recharging his batteries now on my warm sweatshirt on the table. What a goof!

Cat problem (with doggie as well) When we (Bo) feeds Binx, we have to watch her eat the food or else Little Bit (the dog) comes in and gobbles it up. By the same token, Little Bit (doggie) is avoiding her food and rather has the cat food. We think that Little Bit was fed on table scraps since she does look at us with soulful eyes. We rescued Little Bit from a neighbor who did not take care of her. (Read skinny from malnutrition and shyness. She hates females except me and I am seldom around and she does love me) . How can we train Little Bit from stealing Binxs food? Little Bit has her own food and she turns her nose at it (I wonder how she is getting fat...) Oh yea...Little Bit hair is just like Binx's...shredding all over the place...

Oh Shar....you are asking the pet question of the ages! I've tried all the tricks in the world to keep the dog out of the cat food. Even putting it on a counter, however, the dog got ON the counter! But putting the cat food higher than the dog is about the only suggestion I can offer. That and maybe putting a bit of canned dog food in with her dry, that's how we used to feed our Saints. And those "soulful" eyes are a weapon of mass destruction on dogs......gets you every time! And yes, Little Bit will pack on the pounds FAST eating cat food. The formulation is different from dog food, Shiloh put on 10 lbs from eating the cat food I'd leave out. He wouldn't eat his dry, but he'd gobble the cat's.

Misty had a hissy fit because some outdoor cat had the audacity to venture into "her" yard. She sits on the window ledge and looks out, and goes ballistic if she sees another cat. It's hard to believe shrieks like that can come from a 5-lb. cat.

I don't know what was on the plastic covering the phone book that was delivered to me today, but the cats went crazy over it. They took turns sniffing it and rolling around on it. All I can think of is that some good-smelling outdoor cat rubbed against it when it was outside, or maybe the person deliverng it had been eating something yummy before he delivered it. You'd think someone had rubbed catnip on it.
