When you are put into bondage that you know is inescapable, why do you struggle?
When she is about to gag you, and you know she will get her way, why do you turn your head and delay it that one split second?
When she orders you to do something, why do you say, "No," even though you know in about 2 seconds you will be doing it?
When she grips her hand in your hair, why do you twist your head away, when it's futile to resist?

because struggling is fun, and also a bit hot.
i dont usually turn my head?
i wouldnt say no.
maybe to get the pulling started. =)

Struggling against the ropes proves I can't get away and allows me to relax into them. If I could get away, I would worry that I was going to come undone and have to be careful about how I moved. And that's no fun.

If I try to avoid the gag there's a physical reason. My lip is caught under my teeth or there's a hair across my mouth. And I want that adjusted or to adjust it myself.

If there was such a thing as a femdom "wank material" thread, I will be honest, yeah, that's kind of what this is. So I apologize for using you, if any of you feel used having to answer this question.  But underneath it, there is an interesting question there:  Why DO you struggle?

When you are put into bondage that you know is inescapable, why do you struggle?
When she is about to gag you, and you know she will get her way, why do you turn your head and delay it that one split second?
When she orders you to do something, why do you say, "No," even though you know in about 2 seconds you will be doing it?
When she grips her hand in your hair, why do you twist your head away, when it's futile to resist?

From my experience, there are many subs that don't struggle at all with those struggles. They don't struggle when they are bound, the don't turn their head when they are about to be gagged, they never say "no" and they never twist their head away, etc. Depends on the sub, what she is into, how much the sub trusts/likes the Dom and the situation, etc, etc

Other than struggling once in restraints, I wouldn't struggle in the situations you mentioned: it would be disobedient and a dishonor to myself and to my Other.  I enjoy struggling against restraints (Or pulling against them) for a number of reasons: 1)There's freedom in not being able to move freely, 2) Seeing that they really are secure, 3) Contemplating how I might get free if I desired (Though, that's not a prevalent thought), 4) Giving my Other pleasure by seeing me test the bonds and showing my trust in allowing myself to be there, 5) Feeling the physical sensation of my body being in a situation that it is not in standardly, 6) Kicking up the head-space more swiftly.
Now, if I had someone in the scenarios you mentioned and they bucked what I was doing (Allowing for small exceptions from at least one person I know would do it and I would allow some leeway), I would consider themselves to be dishonoring themself and their service to me.  That would be unacceptable.
If one doesn't want to serve, they shouldn't.  If one is going to do something that matters, they ought do such with excellence and dedication.

I struggle because I'm not a submissive. I want to be taken. Although it depends on the situation - I struggle when I know I'll get away with it...if I know that I'll get slapped for struggling I won't, but I'll still struggle at the beginning, to determine whether I'll get slapped

Also yes it is hot. It's hot to know that he can force me even if I use all my resources (muscles, teeth, pouty face) to try to stop him. Plus it helps me convince myself that I'm not willingly participating in perverted acts.

I've always thought it was part of my job description. It's no fun for the Dom/me-torturer if their subject dies willingly..... Scotty

The same reason some people push the button to the elevator several times and others only once: it is a matter of urgency.

Very interesting question. Your question can have many possible answers depending on Domme / sub situation. For me, I thouroghly enjoy struggling. My body may be bound, but my mind had not yet been broken. Inescapable bondage allows me to struggle with all my might, yet the bonds are such I cannot hurt my Mistress. Being a larger/stronger than your average bear person, my pain thresholds are higher then your average person. To have my limits pushed sometimes might invoke a very strong physical response from me. Inescapable bonds are a mental safety net as I know I cannot harm my Mistress regardless of my reaction.

Being able struggle to the full extend of my body also leads to physical exhaustion. When physical exhaustion meet mental exhaustion, ultimate sub space is acheived. I realize this is not everyones idea of sub space. But it is mine. And some Domme enjoy taking the sub on this journey.

I think it's incredibly, incredibly hot when a submissive struggles. I think it definitely intensifies the feeling of power.

I tend to struggle when trying to avoid his evil flogger, If i avoid and it will be worst for me.  From time to time Master loves it when i struggle, but i am able to know if he is in the mood for that or not. :)

Its simple really. What you describe is a game. It is role play rather than reality, and the "pretend struggles are all part of the game, the turn on" Ask yourself this. How many of the Dom'mes reading this would enjoy a sub who simply complied? Not very many I'll wager. D/s and bdsm however hardcore ar practiced by both parties for pleasure and gratification.
The other side of the coin where the acts are non-consensual are of course abuse, and that is an entirely different question.

Because she enjoys the resistance.
Because I enjoy the resistance.
Because even if we both enjoy it, there is still a frisson of fear toward the unknown and my ability to bear it.

How can true sub know the limits unless you truley test them and it never fails to get a dominant excited.

I struggle and I actually will escape if I can.. I tell the Domme that to make sure they chain me up good cause really unless they are there to watch me no ropes have ever held me for more then a  short period of time(granted I haven't been with super rope specialists lol) But they learn quickly and use chains lol    Just cause I say they can doesn't mean I will make it easy.   I have ADD too so I get bored lol if I absolutly can not escape then I'm very happy :D   It means they know me, they love me and want to make sure to keep me in my mind.

Great question Aakasha.  Required a little soul searching to answer with any insight.

For me, struggling is an integral part of the bondage and power exchange experience.
  • I crave the helplessness which inescapable bondage creates - therefore I experience being helpless when I struggle and fail.
  • I crave the lack of control which my domme demands- therefore I test her ability and willingness to control me when I fight.
  • I crave the fear of both - therefore I extend that moment of fear as long as I'm able knowing it is this balancing on a knife's edge between control and helplessness that lies at the heart of what I fear/crave.

i don't do any of these things unless we're engaging in resistance play. i can't fathom not allowing the person i've given change of my body to use their property. i'm owned. end of story.

the comment on no is a no go. if i utter those words i'd better have a damned convincing reason for doing so and a willingness to accept corrective action for speaking without thinking first. there are a million ways to convey concern but saying no without that discussion is insubordinate in my mind. i'm a slave. it is my duty to strive to be obedient and compliant. it is difficult for me to understand how behaving this way would corroborate this.

i find it interesting that the few that actually say they don't resist or struggle are female subs.   Granted I knew a few male subs that don't either but it's more rare.
The first live event I went to i met a mistress and she said she wished her sub would resist or struggle more.  That sort of stuck with me, even though I already did struggle and resist before that. I had often wondered if it would be better if I didn't.
