I've been doing this suspension training I guess they did it on the biggest loser. Its absolutely amazing!!! It's helped so much with my strength and flexibility and along with some running on the treadmill I've increased my muscle mass incredibly and I've managed to drop 10 pounds in the last four weeks.

What a great testimonial for suspension training!  Do you do it at home?  How often?

I actually do it with a personal trainer right now, but now that we've gone through a variety of routines and safety and how to hang the straps I'm buying one for my home. You can get a portable one that just goes over your door or you can get one that mounts on a wall. I workout 5 times a week and I do the suspension training depending on the week 2-3 times and how hard I push myself. You can get pretty sore. It's fantastic you use all your own body weight and it's pretty core intensive.

Level, Your links are the key to diet & heath and I hope everyone takes the time to read them and understand how it is all tied together!

My slave has lost 27 lbs in these first 9 weeks I have owned her eating 6 small meals a day bsed on the principles Levels links offer.

Sooo, should I step away from the "Order with one-click" button on Amazon (that I seriously was about to do) and learn from a trainer first?

Lol no you can order one they come with great manuals and a video I think and if you get stuck for routines I found quite a few online last night. I swear it's fabulous. It was made by a former navy seal they used to be made out of parachute material. I feel so good after I do a suspension workout.

I tend to be a little bit hmmm what's the word clumsy!

BossyShoeBitch -> RE: Kinksters & Their Body Size, Diet, & Fitness (11/10/2009 7:22:52 AM)

I'm gonna do it!
10 pounds in two weeks huh?  Were you dieting too or is this strictly from exercising?

impishlilhellcat -> RE: Kinksters & Their Body Size, Diet, & Fitness (11/10/2009 7:28:07 AM)

Four weeks not two (which I've heard is the healthy way to do it slowly so it stays off) and I did change my diet I cut out sugar and pop and upped my protein intake more good carbs brown rice and wheat bread and smaller meals. The one thing I'm amazed about is the muscle definition I have. I have no fat whatsoever on my legs and that only took three weeks and my arm strength and the muscles in my shoulders . I didn't even know my body could do this.

BossyShoeBitch -> RE: Kinksters & Their Body Size, Diet, & Fitness (11/10/2009 7:39:13 AM)

That is fabulous!  You are absolutely right about 2 pounds a week being ideal.
Good for you!!

barelynangel -> RE: Kinksters & Their Body Size, Diet, & Fitness (11/10/2009 7:47:09 AM)

Wow Impishhellcat that is seriously awesome for you, 10 lbs in a month is a GREAT number especially if its weight strength training.

That suspension thing looks great, i wonder though if you need a very stable door for that and room.  My bathroom door may do it but i only have a 3 by 3 square to work with   It looks like a form of pilates.  I am soo going to look into it.  Thanks!

angel

DOnt get mad when I take you out for a lovely dinner. We will eat slowly and savor the meal. Tasting....we dont have to clean the plates. Just have the pleasure of a dining experience for the eyes, nose, and tastebuds!

wow!  I can SO do this!  Do you happen to know if there's a DVD that can teach the proper positioning in one's own home?  (I don't have time for gym workouts, and my walking consists of going around my block multiple times, so that I'm within earshot of my house.)  It looks like it's low or no impact.

I know there are instructional videos out there. I do think I say think because I don't know for sure, I'll ask my trainer today, that it comes with a video. It is harder than it looks (if you have good coordination it's so much easier), but the placement of your body can increase/decrease the workout.

CallaFirestormBW -> RE: Kinksters & Their Body Size, Diet, & Fitness (11/10/2009 8:20:46 AM)

Here's a link to the original suspension fitness system by TRX... and you can get videos, etc., at the same place. (This is one of the systems my physical therapist uses with us, and it definitely -rocks-, though you have to be careful for someone who has a profound difference in strength capability on one side of the body vs. the other).
