ORIGINAL: GreedyTop So is mine.. so it wil be gentle hugs, even if I AM huggin teh stuffin outta ya :) (pls.. if NHS can do back replacements, marry me...) heh ... well I admit I'm firmly of the opinion that, for a lot of conditions, back surgery is not a good idea. When it works it's ok. But when it doesn't (and I've seen some cases where it doesn't) then you're stuffed. And not in a good way :) So I choose to put it off as long as possible. They offer it to me annually (that's part of what today would have been about if I'd bloody got there) and whenever we review the odds and options, my GP and I always decide to wait another year. For as long as I can still walk, fuck and ride bikes (albeit with painkillers), I'm not going under the knife. Mind you, due to the amount of damage I sustained 25 years ago (mostly soft tissue, not hard tissue/bone, so not as good an option, surgery-wise), I'm a "special case" - for a lot of people it's a clearer choice, and better option.
