I admit though that one's chances of that itch getting properly scratched are minimal if one is going to lower one's standards.

I admit I do genuinely tend to imagine how I'm going to feel the second after I ... er ... "finish". That usually snaps me out of it.

I admit it I've been celibate now for awhile, but not that long yet.

3,600 oscillations per minute - nothing else comes close!

I admit my first one died after 14 years and I bought the top of the line one to get all the new attachments but am back to my favorite (grapes) so have a bit of buyers remorse for spending the extra money.

Status: offline 		I admit it I have only eaten baby squids & can't imagine having a huge one in my refrigerator, let alone in a pot on my stove.

I admit it I will only eat the baby ones when they are battered & fried.

I admit it I used to work in Chinese-American restaurants & they would fix supper for the help.  One night I went back to get my supper & it was a huge pot of peapods.  I enthusiatically dipped the large ladle into the pot, upended it on my plate & there were baby squids with their little eyes looking back at me.  I admit it I pushed it all back into the pot & ordered a cheeseburger.

I admit it I perhaps need to broaden my gustatory horizons.

Honestly, Calamari In Umido is one of the classic Italian dishes, and so simple to do. And it tastes yummy.

The trick with squid is you either do it at phenomenally high temperature (very high temp grill or fry), for very short amounts of time (like 30-60 seconds) or slowly, at a much lower temperature - the classic "rubbery" squid is when someone's tried to cook it quickly, but has gone a few seconds too far. With stewed squid it's almost impossible to get it wrong.

Stewed squid's a good one to give them then because the finished product doesn't look anything like the starting animal, if you follow me :)

*it's important to make sure the chef is well lubricated before cooking, because otherwise you end up with a squeaky chef, and that's no good.

Status: offline 		Darling RF, you really do not fathom the depth of these people's attachment to the familiar.  They are amazing to observe.  Some days I do feel like an alien oberving humanoid life forms for reports to send back home.  When they told me at 5pm that they wanted spaghetti for dinner, I told them I didn't really have the ingredients & was reminded that there were 2 CANS, ffs, of spaghetti sauce in the cupboard & what more did I need???

Now when I make red sauce, I start with fresh ingredients & slowly cook it down all day long.  But they refuse to even consider such a thing.  *sigh*
