Status: offline 		Kytten, who knows, only he'll know his motivation, but I and my dad feel it's really inappropriate to turn a funeral into a religious sermon no matter who the pastor thinks he's helping, if that was indeed his motivation.

It's really awful to be trapped because to get up and walk out on your friends funeral would be rude,  in a place with someone who feels the need to spread the word of god.

I admit that I am standing by my statement about the funeral turned Come To Jesus sermon.

I admit that yes, while quite rude, I have seen them help many a person who were tossed further down the hole due to the loss of a loved one.

I admit that one of those very sermons (while it didnt cause me to be an avid church attender and stuff) helped me out of one of my darkest moments.

topping I think that depends on several things... the person being buried, their believes and where the funeral is being held. One of the men I respect most in my childhood was a devoute Christian, the principle of a Christian School and ran a the churches Young adult bible study. When he passed 100s of people came out, the service was held at his church. There was a sermon about life and the foot prints we leave. I am not a christian by any means but he would have wanted this service. It was about him ... his life. Not making me comfortable.

Now on the other hand one of my closest child hood friends was wearing a MC patch as soon as he was legal. When he passed away it was not a religous ceremony and would have been totally inapproirate for ANYONE to go on a religious tangent of any sort since he was an atheist. Lol
