That'd be good if he did run for office!
He has a degree in economics from Harvard so he'd be way ahead of most of the pols in there now!
And his views on enforcing our immigration laws are shared by most Americans. And, he's good at pointing out how our government doesn't do it's job and wastes our Taxdollars.
We need people like him in office to shake things up.

AnimusRex -> RE: Lou Dobbs leaves CNN (11/12/2009 9:59:12 AM)

I am thinking he might find a home on Telemundo

After hearing you babble on and on against degree holders from Harvard, your post above is dreadfully ironic [8|] .

For me Lou Dobbs was one of the few honest political commentators in CNN. He made it pretty clear that he was kicked out of CNN as he was not willing to compromise (or stop expressing) his position  in issues like illegal immigration, globalization designed to fleece America for the benefit of corporate and other elites, government monetary policies and others. Honest public debate of meaningful issues is becoming increasingly difficult in US.

DomKen -> RE: Lou Dobbs leaves CNN (11/12/2009 2:35:56 PM)

Or it could be that he spent several shows this summer supporting Orly Taitz and the birthers amongst other nonsense he has had on his show in the last couple of years.

I can understand Lou Dobbs irritates  Obamanites and so called "liberals" as well as the government and both parties.  It was very important to eliminate independent voice from the mainstream television. Independents (now the largest group) pose potentially serious threat to status quo in politics (plutocracy). Fox news is not a problem. It creates nice illusion of "debate" between to ruling parties.
It is easy to predict  the coming  government/corporate move against the freedom of opinion in the Internet.

Slavehandsome -> RE: Lou Dobbs leaves CNN (11/12/2009 4:00:30 PM)

Its important to note the shift from Fox's dominance during the Bush years, to CNN since Obama has taken office. Every airport you're in, used to have every TV on Fox, and we were forced to swallow the bitter pill of O'Reilly in our ears. Now, all TVs are set to CNN, and it just wouldn't do to have anchors making some kind of counterpoint to the White House party lines. The White House works for certain corporations, and for a long time has. The idea that Americans are going to pay for illegals to have health care, was a decision made during the North American Union talks during the Bush years, and Obama has agreed to continue the trend, and has promised that this would be a part of the new Health Care "Reform". The fact that Obama's fine for not buying mandatory insurance is "up to $250,000 and/or up to 5 years" would not have made a pleasant campaign topic to say the least. When corporations make decisions for the government, that's called Fascism. Its one more industry-led bill that's going to go through, and here it comes.

Too bad your premise is totally refuted by the ratings wrt private viewers. And as far as airports go, your memory is faulty. CNN has had an exclusive contract for airport television for at least 15 years covering virtually all of the major airports.

Exactly what I am talking about.
With Lou Dobbs words:
"Unfortunately, these issues are now defined in the public arena by partisanship and ideology rather than rigorous empirical thought and forthright analysis and discussion," he said.

Lou program had high rating, instead of just not watching the "useful idiots"  want it gone. Welcome to USSA.

servantforuse -> RE: Lou Dobbs leaves CNN (11/12/2009 7:05:17 PM)

FOX blows away CNN's ratings every way you can look at it. It isn't even close, and hasn't been for a long time.

Lucylastic -> RE: Lou Dobbs leaves CNN (11/12/2009 7:09:26 PM)

Oh my heart pumps purple piss, I didnt like him long before I even gave a damn about US politics... hes just one person who annoys the hell outta me...I dont need politics as an excuse to find someones character wanting..you know what they say about assuming dont you...
Lucy

servantforuse -> RE: Lou Dobbs leaves CNN (11/12/2009 7:14:47 PM)

I like Lou. I think he would fit in nicely with FOX. He was the best CNN had.
