ORIGINAL: PlayfulOne I am 42 and my little one is 28, the age was never an issue or thought for us, but then again she likes older men. On line I think pewople need a starting point and a common one they use is age. I can understand why you would be confused that people your own age or older would say your too old. I think age becomes less of an issue when you are talkiong to people in person at which point it becomes more of the vitality than simply age. good luck K Actually I take the opposite stance. In real life offline, ones age is more apparent, disparity in age more apparent. In offline stuff, you have to deal with family and friends actually questioning you, your choices. You actually have to deal with differences in health care and life choices. Age DOES matter. WHether it means you will or won't be together is a personal preference, but the fact that we DO age in a particular culture, we face different issues depending on our generation, different music, politics, and more. Younger people face FAR different choices and stages than a person who is much older. As an older partner, one must have more patience and ok to watch and step with someone going through issues they likely dealt with years ago. My two older partners are 42 and my boyfriend is 22. I am 26. We have wonderful lives together. Yet our ages ARE part of who we are and how we interact. This isn't a bad thing, any more than our religious background, educational background or family structure. BUt age does matter and it does need to be considered. LA, I don't find one moment of any day where our ages play into anything. You at times try to hard to analyse things into little boxes. Typicslly many of the things you listed our issues of you want them to be. Family and friends will question many of the choixed you make, so in the end that is simply nothing more than a cop out. Issues never truly change, only the wrappers, remember the old quote, "There is nothing new under the sun". things such as polotics, music, etc.. or only issues when the older person is stuck in the thoughts of their youth. Then again when you over dissect everything to the point of lunacy, you can always find issues. K
