Its always understood that without ratification the signature is worthless. In other words, the man is not a king, he's a president.

What Vincent said. If the bugger can't sign treaties that'll be honoured beyond his term, there's no point having him there in the first place.

Moonhead -> RE: Climategate (12/3/2009 6:19:51 AM)

Obviously. If he was a king he wouldn't have any real powers at all, and there'd be no point asking him to sign anything.

popeye1250 -> RE: Climategate (12/3/2009 2:24:50 PM)

I was listening to the Howir Carr Show (WRKO - 680 am Boston) this afternoon and he said that there's a $230,000 per year U.Mass professor who's been a recipient of those e-mails but said nothing about them.
He said the ultra- liberal Boston Globe just had a picture of a polar bear on an ice flow in response. LOL!
Even when you catch these cultists red handed they continue to lie!
"I did not have e-mails with that woman!"
According to Howie and the things he was reading this "manipulation of figures to *fit the theory*" has been going on for *years* now!
"There are too many people in cushy high paid positions to do anything other than *LIE* now!"
And Howie mentioned that Australia has voted down it's "global-warming" bill recently.
And Howie used the words "Fraud" and "Scam"....."Liberally!"

As the Lobbyists in Washington call it; "Mining the Taxpayers!"

Mercnbeth -> RE: Climategate (12/3/2009 2:41:03 PM)

Just three days ago - this was expected: "Obviously a primary preoccupation of both the president and myself is the Copenhagen conference and our respective efforts to deliver a strong, robust Copenhagen agreement," Rudd told journalists in Trinidad.

But as the religion unravels under its own weight of deception, it appears clearer heads prevailed in Australia.

SYDNEY Australia's plans for an emissions trading system to combat global warming were scuttled Wednesday in Parliament, handing a defeat to a government that had hoped to set an example at international climate change talks next week.The Senate, where Prime Minister Kevin Rudd's government does not hold a majority, rejected his administration's proposal for Australia to become one of the first countries to install a so-called cap-and-trade system to slash the amount of heat-trapping pollution that industries pump into the air.The 41-33 vote followed a tumultuous debate in which the conservative main opposition party at first agreed to support a version of the government's bill, then dramatically dumped its leader and switched sides after bitter divisions erupted within the party.The new leader, Tony Abbott, said Australia should not adopt an emissions trading system before the rest of the world."The right time, if ever, to have an ETS is if and when it becomes part of the international trading system and that is not going to happen prior to its adoption in America," he told reporters after the vote.Rudd had wanted the legislation passed before he attends next week's U.N. summit on climate change in Copenhagen so he could portray Australia as a world leader on the issue. He discussed the issue with President Barack Obama this week during a visit to the White House from which he was still returning Wednesday.

How is it that any credibility still remains on this issue. Not only were the results reported erroneously without considerations of observable results; but as soon as the gauntlet of challenge came out - they lose their research so it can't be validated?

I can't wait to follow the proceedings and the backpedaling from Copenhagen next week. The only reason anyone can still be championing this nonsense is someone benefiting economically.

It has started to unravel for the messiah: Al Gore apparently has canceled a high-priced speaking engagement during the upcoming climate change conference in Copenhagen.As NewsBusters reported Tuesday, the Nobel Laureate was slated to lecture about his new book "Our Choice" where attendees could pay over $1,200 a ticket for the right to meet the Global Warmingist-in-Chief and have their picture taken with him.

Great, im pleased that people on this side are smarter then those who want to tax the people

willbeurdaddy -> RE: Climategate (12/3/2009 4:07:49 PM)

I was not hopeful that the exposure of the fraud would even cause a ripple in Copenahagen. The ship seemed to have too much steam to be diverted by even this "iceberg". However, the cancellation of Gore's speech is encouraging because it sets a tone for the entire meeting.

If science were the real driver behind the meeting, it would be postponed until the ramifications of everything learned in the last couple of weeks can be digested.

popeye1250 -> RE: Climategate (12/3/2009 4:46:56 PM)

But Merc, they have highly paid "Scholors" in cushy positions with great benefits!
Surely THEY can't be expected to go out into the "D.P.S." (Dreaded Private Sector) and have to actually,...p,...pr,..."produce something" can they?
"Oh the Humanity!!!"

Mercnbeth -> RE: Climategate (12/3/2009 4:52:53 PM)

Arnold 'Govenator' Schwarzenegger either didn't get the memo, or has a bunch of money invested into the fraud.

The map, which demonstrates the devastating effects of global warming in just a century, shows how San Francisco Airport would be completely underwater if sea levels were to rise by 150cm (60in).

I'm glad that I've got 100 more years of attending the Folsom Street Fair before Arnold's prediction of it being underwater. I was worried there for a minute and thought I'd have to go tubing though the street and that would ruin my leather!

You've GOT to watch the YouTube movie on the link!

Did you see the footprints of those windmill generators and their access roads that were shown at the end of that clip? A lot of pristine ground gets churned up for every one of those babies.

You people who think climate change isn’t real have been drinking the Kool-Aid as bill Orally would say:

Group promoting climate skepticism has extensive ties to Exxon-Mobil | Raw Story

The organization is called the Nongovernmental International Panel on Climate Change (NIPCC), appa rently named after the UN coalition International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). An investigation into the group reveals its numerous links to Exxon-Mobil, a vehement opponent of climate legislation and notorious among scientists for funding global warming skeptics.

"Exxon-Mobil essentially funds people to lie," Joseph Romm, lauded climate expert and author of the blog Climate Progress, told Raw Story. "It's important for people to understand that they pay off the overwhelming majority of groups in the area of junk science."

Yea, I have been wondering about that also. I know a lot of people who say Gore and friends are lying through there teeth about the causes of climate change, but I have never heard anyone claim that there is no change.

Researcher: NASA hiding climate data

The fight over global warming science is about to cross the Atlantic with a U.S. researcher poised to sue NASA, demanding release of the same kind of climate data that has landed a leading British center in hot water over charges it skewed its data.

Chris Horner, a senior fellow at the Competitive Enterprise Institute, said NASA has refused for two years to provide information under the Freedom of Information Act that would show how the agency has shaped its climate data and would explain why the agency has repeatedly had to correct its data going as far back as the 1930s.

"I assume that what is there is highly damaging," Mr. Horner said. "These guys are quite clearly bound and determined not to reveal their internal discussions about this."

The numbers matter. Under pressure in 2007, NASA recalculated its data and found that 1934, not 1998, was the hottest year in its records for the contiguous 48 states. NASA later changed that data again, and now 1998 and 2006 are tied for first, with 1934 slightly cooler.

Mr. Horner, a noted global warming skeptic and author of The Politically Incorrect Guide to Global Warming and Environmentalism, wants a look at the data and the discussions that went into those changes. He said he's given the agency until the end of the year to comply or else he'll sue to compel the information's release.

Of course Obama doesn't feel that there is any need to investigate Climategate - his carbon footprint already screams at you that he doesn't believe that there is any man-caused global warming crisis.

Rep. Issa: Obama's refusal to investigate 'Climategate' emails is 'unconscionable'

The U.N.'s decision this week to investigate whether some of its climate change research had been manipulated constitutes a "direct rebuke" of the Obama administration, Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) said Friday.

The White House's unwillingness to open a similar inquiry could now only be characterized as "a sad abdication of their responsibility to ensure that U.S. policies are not driven by corrupted science and data," the congressman added.

Is this the guy that spearheaded the investigation of Bush's corrupted science and data, or am I thinking of someone else?

How droll.............

Bozell: Maybe Networks Don't Know About ClimateGate; We'll Send Them News Via Bike Courier

For 14 straight days, the three broadcast networks have failed to report on the great and growing ClimateGate scandal on their weekday morning or evening news programs.  How to explain this?

Perhaps it is that ABC, NBC and CBS have not yet heard of the story, despite two weeks of non-stop reporting on and discussion of ClimateGate in a whole host of media outlets...

Of course, people could leave celebrity coverage and go to sources that still cover the news. Lots of coverage on NPR, in the Times, BBC...

That would spoil the fun of proclaiming a vast conspiracy, naturally. Facts are annoying that way.

And what is the total viewership of broadcast news vs the readership/viewership of "sources that still cover the news"? Hint: if its not on at 6 or 11, the vast majority of those who are interested in news never see or hear it.

And will we see 60 Minutes on this? If Don Hewitt were still in charge it would have been the lead story last week.

mnottertail -> RE: Climategate (12/4/2009 1:16:07 PM)

but its on glen beck, the most watched news in the fucking nation (if you actually could cite you'd know that.......what the fuck was I thinking.....) so its covered.
