And thats why I am not concerned about Irans far off threatening (in terms of timelines) pathetic nuke capability, 18 months Afganistan, sashay into Pakistan, square dance right into Korea just up the coast, and jet back over into Iran in time for the shindig of Christmas 2040.

mnottertail -> RE: Climategate (12/4/2009 2:10:23 PM)

so you breath the shit without let or hinderance? I gotta believe you can get co2 cheaper than o2 by the tank. might go good on oatmeal, dunno.

....riiiiight.

CO2, water, carbonic acid, erosion of coral reefs as oceans become more acidic, destruction of food security for many around the world. Acid rain.

However, i believe the coal industry did publish some research that suggested that elevated CO2 levels made plants grow faster. And they will, of course, be as impartial as any number of East Anglian scientists.

mnottertail -> RE: Climategate (12/4/2009 2:51:04 PM)

And since it is a valuable resource, we should sequester that shit for our future, instead of wasting it.

But neo-conservatives thrive on waste and squander this is just more evidence of it, the tip of the iceberg really.

Obama to spend Christmas in Hawaii

The first family will spend Christmas in President Obama's home state of Hawaii, the Honolulu Star-Bulletin reports.The Obamas will reportedly arrive in Honolulu on December 23 and stay until January 2.

That's great. I had a friend who moved to Hawaii and she says it is beautiful there. I hope they have a good time. Oh and I hope the media gets some good shots of Michelle at the beach, but I am kinda twisted that way. I wonder if they take the dog with them or leave it at home?

Sanity -> RE: Climategate (12/4/2009 4:12:13 PM)

I don't mind Obama vacationing in Hawaii, I really don't. Whats troubling is his hypocrisy. How can he jet off to Hawaii with the full entourage and then show up at Copenhagen with a straight look on his face? How can he tell ME that I need to sacrifice, that we (quote) ALL need to make sacrifices, and then jet off to Hawaii.

Yeah, I hope he has fun, but why can't he drop all the drama and BS. He doesn't believe in man-caused global warming any more than I do...

Once again, Sanity, you're right. I think you should really put the nail in his coffin and pull out the links to where he said we would have to shut down all air travel, all cars, all heavy industry and move back into a pre-industrial agrarian society within the next two years or the planet is doomed. I mean, he said that, didn't he? That's why he's a hypocrite, right?

And since you can tell what he believes and other things only a mind reader can do, can you look into the mind of Tiger Woods' wife and see if she'd be into some really dirty "revenge" sex on him? Let me know what she believes too.

Which is why John McCain, a staunch republican supported it before he went veering to the right? Or is this just another case of someone not being a "twue conservative?"

He isnt any kind of conservative much less a "true conservative"

BKSir -> RE: Climategate (12/4/2009 4:31:52 PM)

Wait, he's traveling to Hawaii to spend Christmas with his family?  That evil bastard!  I hope he burns in hell for wanting to spend the holidays with his family!  What kind of a mad man is he!?  Fie!  And a pox upon him!

Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to start packing so we can go pick my pet up soon and bring him home for Christmas to spend it with us... you know, his family.

There are about 12 really good, albeit nasty political jokes that come to mind over that comment, W...but in the interest of both good taste and surprising people, I'm not going to make any of them. 'Sides, it's just too easy.

He can't, the conference is scheduled before his vacation.

Did he tell you that, or are you just assuming it, because you know he is fairly intelligent?

Okay, so how can he go to Copenhagen and keep a straight face klnowing the whole time he's there that right after he jets half way around the world from there he's going to fly his entire entourage to Hawaii...

I frankly doubt his intelligence - see above. "I'm gonna expect all of you all to have lists of sacrifices you're going to make in the name of saving the planet ready for me to read by the time my entourage and I get back from the Islands."

Not really a sign of genius, that.

Of course, people could leave celebrity coverage and go to sources that still cover the news. Lots of coverage on NPR, in the Times, BBC...

That would spoil the fun of proclaiming a vast conspiracy, naturally. Facts are annoying that way.

We've been over this, Muse.  As long as the overwhelming majority of Americans are getting their news from those three broadcast networks, it damn well does matter how they are reporting on a very significant story.

Musicmystery -> RE: Climategate (12/4/2009 7:34:44 PM)

I agree it matters. I think network news is a mess.

I don't agree it's an intentional conspiracy.
