Who's lost weight this week?
Any new workouts/or healthy recipe's to share?

I've been sticking w/high protein foods but now that I'm going to be running regularly to train for Oct. I'll have to incorporate high carbs too.  I BETTER get that freakin' lean runner's build by the day of the race or I'm gonna jump off the Golden Gate Bridge![>:]

I am down 2 lbs from my recent weight gain over Passover.  For some reason there is a lot of chocolate during that time & I seriously indulged.  Plus I kept going out & eating carbs since there weren't many in the house.  Except for the Matzoh.  [:'(]

I ate very healthy yesterday.  For dinner I had a salad with canned salmon & a clementine on it, no dressing & went to bed without a late snack.  I was going to have strawberries, but Harry must have eaten the ones I had just bought since all that was left were the moldy ones.  I don't know why I'm the only one who throws food away here.  I have been told that I need to get away this weekend, so I'll try to go to my sister's.  She always has good for me food there.

Still at 283 pounds.  Mom is making us walk more on top of the Curves membership.  Even the doctor says to walk more.

They are getting a referral for a diet person to counsel me.  I know what is good and bad in my diet already.  I have gotten rid of the chips, reduced my intake of fried foods, am watching out for sodium (okay, so I baked the fish patties instead of frying them, the french fries were baked as well).  I just need to get the salad into my intake without the fattening dressing (I noticed a fat free blue cheese the other day but am suspenseous about it).

I am even watching my MSG intake..  I think that it is one of the reasons why I am swelling up.  I think we are going to hit the store later and getting a little steamer basket and a rice cooker (I lurves sticky rice).

The reason that dressings are low-fat or fat-free is that they use water instead of oil.  You also need to check the sugar ingredients, since they will often up those to make up for the lack of flavor that oil gives dressings.  I found a Wish-Bone spray on dressing that I enjoy.  But the Ranch one is awful. [:'(]  When you spray the dressing on your salad, you can get the flavors all through the salad with very few calories.  I am now at the point where I don't really require dressings.  You also need to beware of restaurant/fast food salads.  They can be very high in calories & fats.  The best idea is to make your own & leave off the cheese & the bacon bits, etc.  Even with salads, portion control is important.

Have you ever thought of keeping a journal of what you actually eat?  I know that I can fool myself into thinking that I'm eating healthier than I really am.  Writing each thing down as you eat it & being completely honest can really help.

I actually have been entertaining the thought of a diet diary.  Just need to remember where the Hades I put the comp book.

We do eat steaks about once a week.  Just a little bit of seasoning and fry up in the skillet or the foreman grill (to get rid of the fat).  I do eat ice cream off and on and always in a smaller bowl (my brother uses the giant cups/bowl for his ice cream).

Next time I am in Austin (next week) I will forgo the house fried rice.  I thinnk a Happy Family is much healthier for me (just saying).  I will be walking more and getting Lizard her ID so she can get on the plane to NYC.

I'll be entering a local race in July (Twilight Run in Rockville). It's only 4.8 miles (only, yeah right!) but I'm going to enter as many short races as I can to get ready for the BIG ONE in Oct. I also bought "Running for Dummies" by Flo-Jo & her exercise video. I figure if I need to get in the best shape possible for the marathon I'll learn from the superstar!

Mmmmmm, that does sound yummy.  My sister said that even if the eggs say that they're from cage-free chickens & vegetarian diet, etc, there's no guarantee that they are.  [&o]
