Status: offline 		Glad I live in a nation where house burglars don't carry guns. Would point out that there's a difference between gun control and the right to defend yourself.....I'm not aware of any juristiction where you're not allowed to defend yourself.

Would also point out that there isn't much relation between gun control & gun crime. Guns being legal doesn't appear to either increase or reduce crime.....it doesn't even increase specifically gun crime much, if you exclude gun suicides.

There is a correlation between effective gun restrictions and lower crime, but this is primarily because nations capable of organising strong gun controls have effective police forces. The argument is, IMO, fairly irrelevant and pointless.

Status: offline 		I'm glad you defended yourself. I am only sorry that you didn't kill the invader, and I hope he doesn't get the idea in his head to sue you--It has happened to people defending themselves.
You acted to defend yourself and your girl, and I salute you for that!

Good luck in all future endeavors, and I hope he doesn't come back with friends

P.S., hope you and your girl feel better soon. Even though it was justified, that still does little to blunt the emotional impact of it, and more importantly, restore your sense of security!
