A question came to mind from another thread, and i didn't want to hijack it. Please, let me apologize for my typing and spelling more so today then normal, i am in having a very painful, fibromyalgia day. But enquiring mind needed to know, so i will ask.

Do you as a Dom/mee feel you can learn anything from your s-type? Do you see your s-type of value in learning other things in life that might be of interest to you?  Or,do you see the s-type as helpless and has nothing of worth to offer you in the growth as a human being, including the dominant side of you? Do you feel the s-type is a child with out any knowing? If so is this part of more of a Daddy/child relationship or Mommy/child? Or is this beyond that type of relationship?

I believe there are many valuable lessons a Dom can give their s-type, yet i wonder if value in seen in the s-type mind.?This has been on my mind for awhile, since i am not use to this type of thinking, and was wondering if it is a main theme with Doms. Thank you for your replies.

Ours has a fair bit of D/lg to it although I don't identify as a little. But even so, there are areas I am better at than he is, and he's too smart not to learn from me. Beyond that, he uses my intelligence as a resource. So I spellcheck for him since the computer will accept too, to and two and not pick the right one. When it comes to his business, I do his research and make recommendations for him. He decides which he will do or what to advise his clients, but I do the prep work.

In many ways our model is that of a CEO and the executive assistant. Executive assistants are invaluable. They are gatekeepers, protecting him from time wasters. They manage his schedule to help him get things done most efficiently. They deal with low level stuff for him under his ongoing rules. A bad exec ass't will hinder a CEO, a good one is one that is sought after and highly appreciated and recompensed. They are smart and can give him info and recommendations which he frequently takes and learns from. But the CEO is still the boss, still the person who takes the credit and the responsibility.

People learn from people. This has diddly squat to do with bdsm or d/s.
Anyone who thinks they have nothing left to learn in life or who thinks they can't learn from another simply because they are an "s" type, imo they are foolish and dimwitted.

This is the kind of question that drives me crazy! What is wrong with people? When is there ever a relationship where both folks involved didn't learn from the other?

This is where I wonder what people in this beloved lifestyle are thinking.  Is anyone's life so narrowly focused that they wouldn't, couldn't and refused to learn anything from their submissive partner?

This is not to attack you wis. Questions like this seems to perpetuate the rampant stupidity often on display here and other places about wiitwd.

Thanks Jefffffffffffff

I never met anyone who would not see both parties a major value. Sometimes the words on this board confuse me and seen it with more then one poster. Figure i would ask.

Your arrangement with you Sir sounds really good. i too have had my value shown to me and it meant so much in the past and now with Sir.

I like the CEo and executive assistant outlook.

Do you as a Dom/mee feel you can learn anything from your s-type? Do you see your s-type of value in learning other things in life that might be of interest to you?

OF COURSE I DO..my boyz are without fail..intelligent.strong men with many of their own interests that I love to learn about and share.
8l taught me about horses..*r taught me to track deer and call animals.*d was a chef and taught me a lot..each had their own spiritaul path as well that we mixed and melded.

Or,do you see the s-type as helpless and has nothing of worth to offer you in the growth as a human being, including the dominant side of you?
NEVER

I believe there are many valuable lessons a Dom can give their s-type, yet i wonder if value in seen in the s-type mind.?
THE s-type mind...what kind of MIND do YOU see this as..???
The s mind I seek is intelligent,confident,willing,open...balanced ,stable..
and surrenders after much thought  to enhance my life and build with me.

IF someone has been telling you you are a"pussy" or weak minded..or of no value
(barring negotiated understandings) then they are an asshole....and you need to run.

I do not understand this question.  Unless people purposely choose dumb, boring people to spend time with, you are going to learn something from your partner, regardless of lifestyle or slash residence.

No, nobody is pursuing me who would fit that description. i never been with any one that felt the s-type was nothing compared to them. i don't undertand that type of thinking, and some dom's tend to post in that way. So i figured i would ask. I would hope this is not a majority here, and so far i am relieved to see it is not.

Nothing stupid about me, and i couldn't even be friends with someone who feel s-types are so beneath them. Just shows me a lot of bunk in their head. if that made sense.

i got to lay down for a bit.
thanks everyone for putting up with my question, just concerned me if this was a breeding ground for people who couldnt find a lot of value the other part of the slash be it a friend or more.

Oh My Goodness.  Of course I do.  I can't begin to tell you the things I've learned from s-types over the years.  Not just about BDSM, but all sorts of things.  Why not see such potential?  In clip's case, the medical knowledge that he's taught Me alone is invaluable.

I do hope you will feel better, wisdom.  Perhaps we can talk of it further when you are doing a bit better.

((((((((((Wisdomtogive)))))))))))) One of those days here too! Wanna share a hot tub?

I could not be with a man I couldn't learn something from! I would be so bored... so frustrated! He has to be able to match wits with me, do word play and work on projects with me. I need someone interested and involved with life and those who are, are interesting and have a lot to offer in the way of sharing knowledge, talent or whatever. I love learning and I don't care where it comes from. Everyone has something to offer... but I like it when they have a lot to offer in this area! lol

Feel better!

This is absolutely nut.  The purpose of the Sub/Slave is to serve the Dom/me and should he/she should function as a depository and as meat with a heart-beat.  Of course this is not the Roman and Greek times so I really do not like to impose marks of any kind that will not fade within 24-hrs.  And being these are modern time work must be distributed but we as Master's should receive a fair return on providing for the Sub/Slave.
