Seriously, I don't know where the line is. I think it is too personal. There is no way a group collective can be formed to determine a distinct line. Just no way. Even here, this thread, with less that two pages of posts, probably all by relatively decent human beings, we have seen different lines. What it comes down to, to me, is my own personal accountability and owning what I say with no reason for making excuses. If I have to weasel my way out of a situation my mouth got me into, I probably crossed a line. Yes, some people are always going to be too sensitive. I could say "boo!" and offend some people........yet that is one I can probably live with. Add to the above, some people have a flair for crossing lines others of us cannot. Then you have audience.......who is listening/reading? It's a HUMONGOUS gray area that simply has no defined boundaries. Edited to add: regardless of offensive or not.........I do know one thing for a god damned fact. I do NOT want anyone's freedom of speech taken away just because I happen to find what comes out of their mouth offensive. I can walk away, ignore, turn off the fuckin computer. But I do not want to live in a society that makes it illegal to tell an offensive, horrible, crude, etc etc etc .........joke.
