Since when is "fat" a word used only for women? And how does that 'keep them in line?' If someone is fat, they're fat. It's simple fact. It need not be an insult unless they allow it to be. Just ask Kevin Smith.



I did not say that it was.  I included it in a list of words used against women.  And if you want to take the discussion on patriarchy and masculinist myths off of the boards or into another topic that is fine.

Status: offline 		LA, I have seen some of that with my employer; when she was first running for office, her campaign manager told her that she'd need to be strong to garner votes; her response was to speak loudly, then ask if that was "strong enough". That memory makes me sad to this day, almost 8 years later, because she IS strong, but has seldom seen that in herself, and because she confused two very different things.

I understand fully when a woman utilizes the term "bitch" to describe herself...A bit headstrong and not willing to take a lot of shit from anyone.

It's part of the terminology of the day. You can choose not to endorse it, but that by no means lessens the meaning of the word for those who choose to employ it.

I don't need to say it. It's obvious. (Plus, if you bothered to read my very long discussion with LadyA, you'll see that while I prefer to stay above board in debates and discussions, I will never say no to a trip to "immature land." She opened that door, and I walked right through. However, until she started her shit, I was perfectly fine with not insulting anyone.

You're puzzled because you clearly ignored the rest of this thread. I was having a perfectly fine insult-free discussion with many people. Then I was insulted. In RESPONSE I insulted back(which I indicated I would do in the lengthy discussion you overlooked). Had the original insult never come, I'd have not hurled one of my own.
