ORIGINAL: HisSub1213 As a paralegal who has worked in the Guardianship (Elder Law) field and Estate field, I have to say that as far as the "Guardianship" thing goes, while I can't speak for other jurisdictions, in this area at least, one would be hard pressed to get a guardianship over someone who is not incompetent in some fasion, i.e. mentally, physically, etc. They don't just grant guardianships for any reason. And its a DAMNED expensive process. Not something one could do without an attorney. In addition, the Guardian by law must file an accounting every year, go to court, and maintain the guardianship, and if they don't they are subject to removal. I'm a paralegal and do work in the same field. In Virginia, it's basically the same, though jurisdictions will vary. I tried to read the original post but my brain started to implode and I decided it wasn't worth the risk.
