Dislikes:  Meter maids are mini Hitlers  pure evil..  twice my car got ticketed and I was only 3 min late at the most.

lol CanadianGuy.......I'm glad to hear that....I intend to visit Vancouver one day, and I would hope that you folks never see your city ruined.

You should definitely come and visit. And if you do, I'm always happy to show people around. Kinky folks especially.

Cin

Thank you very much, Cin. I think you'd be a great guide.

I live in a small town in Northern Indiana.  Love the season changes, love the snow, love the colors of spring, love the cornfields and baby cows outside my office window.  Hate the humidity!  Hate (and love) the fact that my family is 1800 miles away.  Hate the mosquitos.  Hate the state government (idiots thought we should do daylight savings again)!  And I hate the fact that we've got almost as many illegals in this little town of some 16,000 (I really don't know how big it is, but downtown is about 3 blocks long) as we did in the entire city of Tucson!!!  Sheesh!

KatyLied -> RE: Where you live (4/5/2006 8:21:34 PM)

Western Pennsylvania.  I love the changing seasons, I love the cabin in the woods, I love sitting out on my deck in the summer.  I hate the "yinzer" speak.

Level -> RE: Where you live (4/5/2006 8:41:38 PM)

Okay.........here's mine.

I live on the upper Texas coastline.....between Houston and the Louisiana border. "The piney woods of southeast Texas" as it's called. So many trees gone now, thanks to development and Rita. Not just pines, but massive oaks, and pecans, and crepe myrtles, and the hated tallows.

I love the food here... mexican and cajun cooking second to none....gumbo, etoufee, quesadillas, wet burritos, boiled crawfish, fajitas, shrimp po boys.......umm.... and even some decent italian and chinese places, too. And the barbque...........oh dear lord.....ribs at Tuffys, chopped beef sandwiches at Burtons...and the barbeque baked potato at the Yellow Rose.

I love the good manners and good hearts of the people here.

I love how you can find most anything within driving distance. Tons of shops (including Parkdale Mall), beaches, forests, professional and collegiate sports, and for such a relatively small community here, a wonderful museum, the Stark, with works by Georgia O'Keeffe, John James Audubon, and Frederic Remington, and the Lutcher theatre, host of national and international touring companies.

I love the mild winters (I think the low of this last winter was right at 33 or 34, and that did not last long lol)....and though I don't care for the humidity, summer does make up for it a bit by encouraging the never ending supply of beautiful women to dress appropriately.

I love that Tom DeLay is leaving our state (sorry Virginia).

I hate that we have a stupid son of a bitch for Governor.

I hate how bigotry still manages to rear its ugly head at times, though things have gotten better......I hate the poor air quality......beyond that, I am quite content here.

"yinzer"? What's a "yinzer"??

NakedOnMyChain -> RE: Where you live (4/5/2006 9:01:31 PM)

Lafayette, Indiana born and raised.  I've never lived anywhere else, but I have traveled quite a bit and I can honestly say it's always good to be "back home again in Indiana".  Many people will disagree with me, but I think the plains and woodlands are beautiful in every season.  Lafayette is big enough to provide entertainment and small enough to be homey.  Plus, all of my family and friends are here.  We have Purdue University, Axl Rose grew up here,  Shannon Hoon was born and buried here, and it's just a hop skip and a jump to Indy and not too far from Chicago.  I love it here.

Kamien -> RE: Where you live (4/5/2006 9:02:08 PM)

Live in central Indiana.  Love the snow, life-long resident (used to it) and that celebrities do not like this place (don't want their kind around here...ha)!  I still hate the humidity in the summer.

From central Indiana here...I also hate the fact we went back to DST or as the people in my office call it the FMD Time (F**K Mitch Daniels Time) or FU Time...ha.  I also would have to put Mosquitos on my hate list.

My best friend growing up in Pa was born in Pittsburgh. " Yinz" is a local slang.
"Yinz guys are silly" translates to:
You guys are silly.
It's the Pittsburgh < area> equivalent of Ya'll.

I *think* a yinzer is someone who uses the colloquilisms the area.

We live in a semi-rural area east of Seattle. Love being close to both the mountains and lots of water; love all the wildlife; love having 4 distinct seasons; love all the green.  Hate the traffic and growth; have mixed feelings on all the rain.[:)]

BitaTruble -> RE: Where you live (4/5/2006 9:45:50 PM)

Born in Rising Star, TX.. grew up in SF, CA and now live in the Twin Cities area of MN. I love that I'm here with Himself.

The list of things I hate is long and lady bug invasions and mosquito's are both on the list.. lol but at the top is the fact that my family is in CA and TX and I don't get to see them very often. 2nd place would have to be the dismal lack of educational resources for BDSM venues, although there are plenty of 'play groups'.  I had Janus in SF which is an amazing org and it spoiled me and I was a member of APEX in AZ which I still hold very close to my heart though I'm not a member any more. There is nothing like either one of those orgs here. Himself and I are hoping not to be here much longer so we decided against starting an org here as we did in Utah when we lived there. We are going to try to put together an educational munch group though, so wish us luck. :)

Add to all this...The fact that in Canada, it is not illegal for women to go topless, for gay people to marry, or for adult events to include some good old-fashioned sex, or some hot dungeon action.

Wish i had known that when we lived in North Vancouver for 2 yrs. Is there still that nude beach by UBC?

I heard there will be daily trains running from Seattle during the Games. That seems a lot smarter than waiting in line at the border. Hopefully we can get up there for a day.

MoRsSweetOne -> RE: Where you live (4/5/2006 10:24:38 PM)

i live in a small tourist town Gt Yarmouth in UK.
The weather is like a box of chocolates, 'You never know what you're gonna get next'!..
i live 10mins from the beach and love to walk down there, its an everchanging scenery. Is heaving in the summer with holiday makers and quiet in the winter months. Our town used to be a thriving off-shore business, but that seems to have moved on elsewhere. We do have a port here tho' so lot's of boat activity
Love the fish and chips here, has to be eaten out of newspaper, they taste sooooo good! We have a variety of resturants, Indian, Chinese and Thai too.

Hugs

I too love Vancouver, BC.  But with everything there is balance, it is warm....but...wet,  sexually open...but this leads to pansexuals....try and find a furry chested, deep throated dom....incredible scenery...expensive housing....ethnic food....racial tension.....tourist dollars....bad traffic....I have to say the 2010 olymipics I am so looking forward too.  I am already saving money and plan to watch as many ice hockey games as I can.  The sea air and mountain breezes are incredible.  I live in a neighbourhood I go one way and I have 4 strip malls and all the shopping I can want. go the other way and I have a beautiful hike with a water fall at the end.  It truly is paradise.

CERCKL -> RE: Where you live (4/5/2006 11:36:12 PM)

South of Portland, Oregon... I love the green, the older homes, the personality of people who belong here...I hate the growth, housing prices, the UGB pushing against the rural and producing fields of homes with no personality and the traffic...but I have chosen to remain here for 25 years.

lol mbmbn........ah, thanks, got it. Now, one thing I'd say is, that I love how we say "ya'll" down here....nothing like a woman with a sleepy smile and drawl saying it......ahem.........*pours cold water on my head*

MochaMistress -> RE: Where you live (4/6/2006 3:26:35 AM)

Live in Northwest Washington state. Up near the Canadian border.

I love being near the mountains. I love being 2 hours away from Seattle should I really want to party. I love all the parks.

I hate the way the cost of living has went through the roof.

Was born and raised in Chicago IL, I miss the shopping there.
