Whoa... I wasn't familiar with Steam -- but am joyfully scanning the games I haven't been able to play that I could play with Steam. I was also introduced to Gaikai yesterday -- which may mean games that I can play on my iPad! (Don't hate me for being beautiful and efficient and having my head in the "clouds"! *grins*)

I admit that I am a dedicated gamer geek -- both onscreen and tabletop. That being said, there is a time for everything. (Yes, I know... it's 4am here and I'm on the computer -- but this is an unusual circumstance.... I'm psyched about my trip, can't sleep, and I'm done packing, so this is providing boredom so I can go back to sleep *wink*) If gaming interfered with service to me, you can bet it would be restricted. Heck, if gaming, boarding, or blogging interferes with my -own- work or family life, I'm outta there... which many of you have seen first-hand by my prolonged absence that only recently ended.

Often, for a servant, the Keeper provides the 'brakes' in those areas where the servant is unable/unwilling to restrain hirself... if xhe doesn't want that kind of direction, then xhe's not looking for a placement with me, and I'm pretty clear about that at the outset.

Yeah, Steam is basically a digital delivery system. You can buy the games online, then download/install them to play. (If you wanted, you can buy ALL your games through Steam and never worry about losing or damaging a game disc - it's a matter of personal preference though)

If you've ever heard of "Half Life" or "Half Life 2" (or even the episodic sequels - Episode 1 & 2), Then you've heard of the parent company - Valve.

If you like puzzle type games, one game that they released 2-3 years ago is called "Portal" - I highly reccomend it.

Basically, you have to solve puzzles by creating portals. For example, if there's a ledge you have to get to (lets say, to actviate a conveyor belt) you can create a blue portal on the ground, (an "entry" portal) then an orange portal (an "exit" portal) high up on a wall. You jump through the blue portal, and get launched out the orange portal thats higher up. You'll actually get "launched", and be able to land on the ledge thats higher than you can normally jump.

It's a really cool game =oP

Perhaps this girl is wrong for jumping into this thread but i wish to state that i am Owned and identify myself as a slave. i work as a dental assistant and have seen many people come through for teeth cleanings, extractions and root canals. i am one of the people. Master is very understanding at the times of the dental procedures. i recently had a root canal and then was fighting an infection that caused my left side of my face to swell up considerably. Even though, Master and girl does not live together, He was coming over two days after this procedure. i did not want to show Him my face as i was looking forward to this visit. He took one look and refused to fulfill what He had described would happen that day. When i asked Him why? He replied that He would not jeporadize my health by causing an adrenline rush through my body. It disappointed me and i got a little fussy with Him. He explained that my health was more important to Him than following through with the intended dynamics that He had described.
Perhaps the OP needs to step back and look at the situation he is or was in with his Domme. If he feels that She was being unreasonable or uncaring, then he needs to ask himself why he was with her in the first place. By restricting his purchases to only essential items, She was showing that She cared about him. i remember once i was on the phone with Master while grocery shopping and i saw some bouquets of flowers marked down. i asked Him if i could buy a bouquet and He knowing my money was very tight told me that if it would make me feel better go ahead. i stopped for a second and then told Him no i do not need to spend the money for that non essential at this time. Instead i bought something to cook for Him when He came over again.
i am not saying that this happens all the time but when i can i will buy something to please Him rather than me.
The OP knew that She had restricted his buying of non essentials and even though She did not answer the phone, he should have waited and not bought the game at the time. That game would have still been there and knowing he would see Her after the procedure, he could have talked with Her then and gone back to get the game later. he could have had the store hold it for him for at least 24 hours and that would have ensured he could return to buy it if She agreed.

Ah, but you shouldn't jeopardize any real life relationships for anything as silly as a game ... particularly when I have a feeling that she would have given you permission to buy it if you had waited until you could actually ask her as you were supposed ot.

Reply on two issues: the notion that video games appeal only to illiterate, uncultured, unmotivated people and "your tits are in the way, could you move over please".

I know a lot of literate, well balanced people who play video games. The biggest issue I see with video games is that they are designed to be addictive. They are also designed to consume huge amounts of time. That's the reason I decided to largely eradicate them from my leisure activities. It's not that I didn't enjoy them or that I felt they didn't improve my mind in some way, but the payoff requires too much time investment. I can read a book in two hours and enrich myself in many ways (improve my vocabulary, glean knowledge in subjects unfamiliar to me, etc.). This isn't true of the large majority of video games, whether these be epic role playing games or quick, connect three jewels, rinse, repeat affairs. Just try and get much value in a two hour Morrowind session (or WOW, if that's your thing). It's not going to happen! At the eight hour mark, you're finally in the groove of solving a quest and many hours later you may have completed that quest and this leads to... you guessed it, another quest or guild that will consume hours upon hours of time to uncover its benefits. I just don't have this kind of time in my life anymore to spend on one, specific thing.

So... on to "tits". As with most things in life, context and timing are significant. If you've got a date with your partner, that's not the time to start up a detailed, self-focused, solo project. Conversely, during those times when people do solo activities, it's not unresonable to expect cooperation from your partner. If I'm in the midst of threading a small part onto a spindle, this probably isn't the best time for my partner to flirt (naked or not). My attention isn't on her and anything she does by way of interruption, unless for a significant reason, isn't likely to be welcome at that moment. Similarly, if my partner is in the middle of a solo project, that's not the best time for me to grab her attention... again, unless there is some significant thing that requires her input. Perhaps, if she needs a break and gives some verbal or non-verbal cue that this is the case, then my interruption may be welcomed, but otherwise her time is *her time*. I wish this all happened organically and without planning, but realistically this doesn't always work. Thus, it's a good idea to communicate with your partner and schedules times for various activities - those solo, together, and with others. I find this eliminates a lot of miscommunicaiton and it makes activities more enjoyable for all involved.
