I agree with what you are saying here T. The misuse of words, perhaps it does say something about the user when they resort to using them, besides them being obtuse and antagonostic.

Anyway perhaps some people need a lesson in the use of proper English

Actually, those terms are archaic.  Normal (average) IQ is in the 90-109 range.  100 is straight up average.

LP. quickly in response to your post #11. I called a kid stupid in school and no matter what else you may know about me I felt really guilty afterwrds, because the kid was actually stupid. He couldn't help it and he wasn't ignorant. I mean he started crying and that was no fun. Maybe it is a personal issue for that reason.

Woody, in post #30 you seem to arguing more definitions but in a way not. These are colloquial definitions. I set out originally to make it clear that noone used the word properly and how it's use reflected on the user of the word in a forum.

But then perhaps I did not present my assertion 100% accurately. It happens, and it also sometimes only happens to some readers. I try to learn and grow and become more proficient in such matters. But that's me.
