I love seeing your pets. Just brightens my day!

Icarys -> RE: PetsRus (8/22/2010 2:40:13 PM)

Me too. If this was a regular occurrence it wouldn't hurt my feelings one bit.

I wish I could do video. Zoe does this crazy phase that's funny as hell. I'm splitting a gut every time she gets worked up. She goes into a play attack mode where she's spinning around in circles, low growling and biting things which she tosses into the air. She puts on one heck of a show [:D]..I picture her saying "Come on sucker if you think your man enough to kick my butt!"..She let's me know when she wants play which happens about once a night. She'll come to where I'm sitting placing her two front paws on my knee and look me squarely in the eyes. If I turn my head (Which I do for fun) she'll get this really intense look..Like it's own! All I have to do is say Woof and she goes spinning like the Tasmanian devil. Lol

I love that heifer.

I've always had an animal of some sort, with the exception of the time I was in the Army.  We raised Saint Bernards when I was growing up, we had cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, fish.....a regular zoo.  Right now I have 4 kittehs which are my children.....they've been back and forth across the country now twice.  I am a "Love me, Love my cat" person.  They each have their own personalities, even the two that are actual brothers.  They are all rescue kittehs, as are the ones that all of my family owns.  Our dogs, too.

We try to support our local humane societies in any way we can, I hit their thrift shop here in J'ville, the one back home sells animal food, and that's where my family gets theirs......they get to keep a percentage of the price for the shelter.  When we have the employee charity drive every year, I give money to the local HS and the ASPCA.  I'd take every one of them home with me if I could!

Here are my two boys ( also have 2 birds and a gold fish, but thats all for now, as I am renting )
Both are rspca rescues, and I love them more than anything.
I originally got Bug, the bigger of the 2, as company\protection, but I am not too sure how that would actually work, as I have dreams about jumping in front of him to protect him from intruders.
If I happen to go somewhere where dogs are not allowed in the house, I will sleep outside with them.
And the other, Bryn, is my little man a more gentle boy you could never find.
Where as it doesn't even cross Bug's mind that nobody would like him, Bryn is very much please like me. I think he may have been ill treated before I got him, though it didn't take him long to learn how to snuggle his way under the blanket.

Anyway, here they are, asleep on the lounge.

Oh and ty Icarus, for making an awesome thread so I, and the other proud mums and dads, can post pics of our alternative children!

I go to this pet store at least 2-3 times a week and visit this little teacup terrier I love and wish I could have.  In the center of the store the owner has a run area for her, it's why I don't feel as bad as I would if she was caged,  she is my world right now.  But I can't take her because I work too much, and I am never home and it wouldn't be fair to her.  I just hope whoever gets her gives her the love Icarys, has for his babies. (and I find out who they are so I can go visit) [:(]

I have two cats and a rabbit.
One cat I've had for about five years now, she saw me volunteering at a shelter and started talking. She hasn't shut up since. Mac is a tuxedo cat and likes to spoon. It's pretty adorable :) and she cuddles with me when I'm sick and massages my head.
My second cat is a recently adopted stray. She's very well socialized and now fully vetted, extremely cuddly and friendly, all black with pretty blue eyes. I'm calling her Abra. The cats are adjusting to each other and get along well.
My bunny, Turtle...is an attack rabbit. He was abused before he came to the shelter I was volunteering at, and bit/scratched anything that came into his cage. Nonetheless I started to bond with him, and my boyfriend at the time rescued him before he could be put down by the shelter after being deemed unfit for adoption. He's my boy. He still doesn't like most people (and he really likes chasing them) but he's gotten calmer and can be very sweet - when no one else is looking... He likes leaning against my leg on the couch when I'm reading, and the cats are scared of this cute little ball of fluff.

Back around 2003, right around when my divorce got finalized, I had a housemate with a goofy little Jack Russell. Rhe dog adopted me, and vice versa. One of his quirks was attacking the spray from a garden hose. It cracked me up every time I saw it. he would chase that stream to and fro for ages. Never got tired. I'd squirt him right in the snout, and he'd bite and chomp until he half-way drowned, then he'd cough and hack for a bit, then get right back into it. Goofy little shit used to tuck his master in, then come into my bedroom, jump up on the bed, get right up in my face, and stare at me until I lifted the covers so he could get under them and snooze in his little tent, as it were. And he would stay under the covers all night. I always wondered how he didn't suffocate. I've got a couple pics of him up on B.com under my nic there, Schlüßelberg.

This is the story of pebbles and the other half of my sandwich...

As you can see the other half of the sandwich did not win...

I was attempting to get a shot of her for my apartment applications and she decided that she was going to kidnap my sandwich... and sit on it... so I wouldnt wish it any longer.
