OK, here;s the thing; if someone does not have the internal drive to submit, there is not much (if anything) the dominant can do to make it happen. On the other hand, if one is internally driven to submit, it would depend on the individual and whatever he/she likes as far as positive feedback.

Being someone worth following. He inspires me to please him by being who he is. I personally have a great dislike of being treated as a trained seal. Learn this trick and get a piece of fish translates to "do this for me and you can go to the movies", No thanks, the sheer fact that you think people can be reduced to this simplistic a transaction says to me you aren't ready to have any kind of a relationship, especially not one where you must take on most of the responsibility for doing things right, for identifying problems and solving them.
