i have my moments... as im sure you have seen on these boards before. But, when it comes to religion and atheism, its not a hot spot with me.

The comment was made that Einstein was wrong.

Then scientists are never wrong.

Then the explanation of why Einstein was wrong and an excuse to try and dust it under the rug.

If they cant own up to their words, there is no sense is going further with the discussion, no matter how much they try and bait.

I'm still waiting to see your proof that he believed in anything supernatural.

Well coincidentally, I'm waiting to see where precisely (link please) I said anything whatsoever about the "supernatural".

If you have trouble finding it, maybe you could ask an intelligent ant to help you.

I'll have to do more research on Alan Turing's tests for AI. (ant intelligence)

You said he was religious. That is the definition of religious.

Read some Ken Wilber.

Preferably his latest edition of Sex Ecology and Spirituality. I think it is a sixty dollar book but the references he cites are totally worth it.

In regards to proving or disproving anything I think I am going to eat something and take a nap.

There I will speak with God without lips and listen without ears. See without eyes and feel without skin.

PIECES.

I found the post where you said that I probably fall into the category of fanatical atheist, but you edited it three minutes later. So, I will take that as you not saying it. But, I did read it.

And, I might take the ant remark as a clever dig if you appeared to be clever in your other post.

you have alot to learn, but, considering you are new to posting to the forums here, i guess a little leniency is warranted.

And thinking that if you can dance me around this tree again it will work out better for you the second time is a definition of neurosis.

Sorry, but words have definitions. You can say they don't mean what they mean but they still do. I'm done.

That's a great explanation. Didn't you major in theology at one point, or am I remembering that wrong?

Actually, my academic background is in English and Psychology (clinical). But with respect to the latter, my special area of interest has been the study of consciousness, an endeavor that continues and in which I was occupied more or less full time for about twenty years of my life academically, professionally, and personally.

It is possible that I may have studied a little theology during that time.

K.

I don't know how i got that one so wrong. I could have sworn I once saw you mention something to the effect that theology had been your original field of study.

Sorry for misremembering that. I suppose the fact that, on the subject of religion, you're quite probably the most knowledgeable poster on the board just reinforced my misconception once I'd arrived at it.

I dabble in the realm of theology. 20 years is quite some time in the study of consciousness. Looks like I have plenty more to go.

Such a simple question can spawn so much debate. plan on bringing joy to others and yourself. i do not see how anyone can do wrong.

:D

Fuck that. We're trying to have a street fight here, and he's going to ruin it by barging in with  his typical common sense and good nature. I say we kick him the hell out of here before he spoils it for everyone!

Not at all. Nothing is more delicious than the truth. Not my fault you run from your own words.

Now, go play like a good boy.

Oh, please don't feel that you were "so wrong." When I said in my reply that I might have studied "a little" theology, I was being ironic. Religion offers a rich field of endeavor for someone with my interests, and one that I have delved into deeply. The myths and practices of our world's religions embody some of humanity's deepest understandings of the nature of consciousness and Man's relationship to the universe. They constitute a subject I know a thing or two about.

Thanks, Panda. Dunno if that's true, but in some cases I'm pretty sure.
